I'm learning to wakeboard on my husband's board and I'm having trouble turning the board once I'm up. As a result, I'm falling backwards. Any ideas??

Let go of the rope with both hands and just use your forward arm to hold on. If you hold onto the rope with both hands your body natually wants to face the boat whereas if you only hang on with the front arm your body natually wants to be sideways. Other than that just use some mustle and twist that board around :-)

Keep both knees bent, pressure 60% on rear foot and 40% on front foot. Hold on to handle with both hands but at the very side of your body (lead side). Keep your back straight, not hunched over..... Once you can do this with both hands and just one then start to roll the toeside and heelside edges of the board over in the water. DON'T point the nose of the board in the direction you want to go, you have to dip/roll the heelside or toeside edges of the board into the water in order to channel the water under your board in the way you want to go. Also try to keep the handle down low, oriented towards your lead hip, it is much more tiring and you will get sore faster but you will be in complete control and you'll be less likely to form some bad habits that you'll need to breal later down the road. Instead of immediately starting out trying to get the handle in and down low, start by getting your elbows in and once you've been doing it for a little while those muscles will get more used to it then move into trying to get the handle in and down low. By doing this, not only will you have more control and as a result progress more quickly, but when you do start jumping the wakes you will have much more control and you wont have to worry about breaking any bad habbits. Also some really good instructional videos are Higher Education Vol 1 and 2 and Dentention Vol 1 and 2. Let us know how it goes, good luck and... most importantly... get out there and have some fun!
