How would you go about mixing an audio soundtrack for a movie? I want to have part of one song play but not the whole thing. How would I mix another song into it smoothly?

If you have adobe premiere, you can cross fade the music in the audio timeline.

If you need the ability to match beats check out:

Here are some higher end audio mixing solutions

I use Digidesign ProTOOLS. Like Kung Fu said you simply want to mix music in Premier is all you need. If you want to chop songs up or add cool effects I like ProTools but there is a limmitless amount of digital editing software out there. If you are a student you can get the MBox(digidesigns hardware) and the program for about 400 bucks and the Mbox has middi, RCA, and XLR inputs for recording purposes.

I just got Acid pro 4.0 and so far it seems like a great program. Does anyone use this and if so do you know how to make seperate tracks? I would like to find a tutorial. I've looked for one a little bit and haven't had any luck finding one that doesn't cost anything. I don't mean to hijack the thread but it's a month old anyway.
