Last years models were around 250 for the top of the line, but this year its $300+ for a wakeskate!! Arent wakeskates supposed to be alot cheaper than wakeboards??

I personaly think Hyperlites are way too expensive and heavy.

wow that is alot of cash for a skate. especially when you are tearing them up on sliders and stuff. think i will stick to cassette for now..anyone know were you can get a big cassette sticker?? i havent been able to find them

Sean, its interesting that you said you thought Hyperlite's were too heavy cause I noticed that a lot lately. Is it the same story with the skates? My local shop doesn't carry any of the high end hyperlite skates and I'd like to get a good look at one b4 I threw down $280 for the Gate. But I really like the design of the Gate. I don't hit sliders and if the board will last me a season or two I think the price is worth it but otherwise... its kinda crazy.

yeah, i did notice this years skates MSRP is $200

that is a $50 drop from last year i think.

The Byerly and Catalyst are $180 US and the Gate I found for $240 US and the Scapes are $85 US
