the UFP (unique functional products) hitch that came on my extreme trailer decided to break the other day. The socket that receives the ball literally fell out. Upon inspection, you could tell the welds were simply shoddy. Very cold, very surface, very not penetrated. Got a new hitch under warranty and the welds were MUCH better. The original was manufactured in DEC 2000 so i would take a look at yours if it is older. I looked at my buddy's on his 2001 and it was the same way....very bad welds for a heavy boat.

just thought i would let you guys know as this could seriously mess you or your boat or your truck up.

thanks for the heads up danny! we have the same exact trailer pulling a heavier Tige 22v.....out of curiousity, do you happen to know any warranty info on the extreme trailers? how long, what is covered, etc.... i have the welds on both sides of the rear diamond plated steps (rear) cracking up the seams on the corners? i purchased our boat semi-used from a different state and do not know a dealer nearby who handles extreme.....any and all info you gathered would be helpful....
again, thanks for sharing.
