Can anyone help me with my backroll? I throw tantrums, ts fronts, and backrolls....but my backrolls are the least consistent. It seem that if I throw it too big I over rotate...so I always end up throwing these little backrolls. Im SICK..Most of the peeps i ride with can only do one invert...but their backrolls are big and lofty. Please help. ps, some say i do a mexican...:-(

The bigger you go, the slower you rotate. So, think about popping first, then throwing it. But, when you initiate the roll, dont bring your knees in at all. Keep you body long and rotating slow. Once you spot the water, size up the situation and if you need more rotation, bring your knees in slightly, and if you are still rotating too fast, let the handle out some and straighten your legs more. Also, learn to do regular backrolls. Learning to go bigger while doing a mexican will be tough because spotting the landing is much harder. I have a big roll pic in my profile. Notice Im not ball up, but laid out and spinning slow.

Flatten your board out when you get to the wake rather than staying on edge through it. If you have a big enough wake, it should feel like you're getting shot out of a cannon.
