help, i can do a tantrum and want to learn a backroll but am not comfortable with the rotation. i saw someone do a hs frontroll and since i can also do a frontroll i thought i could do it easy. wrong, i cant seem to figure out the cut and when or if to let go with my back hand. when do i throw my head to the water? maybe if anyone knows a video or website or you can explain it yourself i would greatly appreciate it, thanx

Cut in like a normal wake jump. When you hit the wake wait for the pop release your rear hand...throw your head towards your feet. The key is to wait for the pop or you will case the second wake. The only problem that you may encounter is that when you wait for the pop and throw you head down as you come around for the landing the handle may get ripped out of your hand. You can solve this by squaring up your body with the wake as you throw your head down.

1. Wait for the pop
2. Release your rear hand
3. throw your head to your feet
4. spot your landing

Russ, on the mexican backroll, when you say to square up your body with the wake as you throw your head towards your feet, does that mean your shoulders are in line with the edge of the wake (like a tantrum)? Or lined up with the back of the boat (like a normal jump)?

Maybe a good explanation of exactly how this trick differs from a typical backroll or a HS front roll would help me???

Thanks!!
