So story is, i learned backrolls and other basic tricks behind the familys 05 sportster with a sky pole and 1200 lbs of fat sac. Well we have almost 900 hours on the boat and are looking for a new one. Our budget is around 35k. The only problem is our docks boat slip is only 90 inches wide. So we cant have a very wide boat. I have been looking at the mc x1s and they look good. Another problem is my dad still slaloms a little so a decent ski wake is a must. Any suggestions would be great.

That's really narrow for anything recent. Most/all of the 21' boats are out of the question as they're all 90"+ interior width (+gunwales + rub rail+ other random protrusions). I think even all of the 20' boats are still wider than 90" overall. Some of the older boats are close to what you'd need like a Ski Nautique 2001 but I think you'd still need more wiggle room.

Is it exactly 90" or is that the remainder after you give yourself a few inches of room on each side?

Is there any chance of widening the slip?

I consider my RZR narrow at 94". I don't think they make anything narrower. Might be tough to find anything newer under 90 wide. Thats pretty narrow.

A MasterCraft X5 might fit. Or maybe a SportStar. I don't know when the last years for those models are but they aren't made anymore.

I dont think the term "cross-over" existed when boats had that narrow of a beam. Those that did, where slalom boats.

You could also go with a Calabria Cal-Air. 87inch beam plus below floor ballast so it has lots of storage for a small boat.

heres my buddies boat! we are ready to move it, and were fixing up the interior now.

750 sacs in the back, kgb sac and integrated bow sac also included! all plumbed.

Not an amazing cross over but the Sanger v210 would be close to fitting......

Great wake boat though

I was looking at that boat. Also. Another option would be to find a nice vdrive for around 20 and keep the sportster for skiing. I was looking at a 99 malibu vlx. If we went with two boats we wouldnt need it to be 90 inch beam. I know there are a few san 210s out there in the 20s, but i heard the wake can buck people easily.

I'm pretty sure the ProStar 205V/Original X-Star/X1 hull was more than 90" overall width. Lots of sites claim the "beam" as 90" but I thought it was like 87" interior width. If that hull is 87" interior width I'm sure the gunwales and rub rails are thicker than 1.5" per side. I'd definitely take some measurements in person. If your 90" number doesn't already include a few inches of wiggle room on each side then I don't think that hull will do.

The X5 is supposedly an 85" beam, should ski nicely and be decent for wakeboarding. Whatever you get better have rotating board racks.

Probably the best wakeboarding boat that will meet your dimensional needs (but not your budget) will be the new MC NXT. It's a 91" overall width so it might fit if you had some wiggle room in that 90" number. It will have more usable space with the forked bow and the v-drive. If you don't need a boat right now then maybe you could wait until next season and find someone who got in over their head on an NXT and get it used for $40k-ish

Upon further observation. The slip with bumpers is 94 inches wide. So a boat with a 91 inch beam would work. I'm working hard on getting an x1. If anyone has ridden behind one. What does the ski wake look at around 34? And the budget has been raised to around 45 with some wiggle room.

Just go buy a new NXT, it's only $50K all day and has a 91" beam...

the 205v hull (xstar, x2, x1) will do what you need. Wake flattens out nicely at speed. I agree the 210 pre 2007 will do the same. The first is a 90in beam the second 91 inch. Good luck. Both have two of the best wakeboard wakes of all time. Just depends on your style!!!

Sanger V210 with a Bennett tab installed is a great crossover boat. So is the Sanger DXII, which is the D-drive of the same hull but you have less manoeuvrability inside the boat getting around the sacs and the engine. The adjustable tab on the V210 will let you flatten out the wake and it's pretty light when empty so you should ski easily on it.
