Hey guys
I took a year off with no boat and was a co-pilot last year. After checking out the new SC and the surf system SWELL, I decided to hop back on the horse. I am pretty excited. Here are the colors I am thinking. Most of you know that I am a "once you go black, you never go back" kind of guy. Here is what I am thinking.
I like the new back accent that Supra offers and Boatmate doing the two tone trailer so I am thinking:
All black with a charcoal accent in the back. Black Boatmate trailer with charcoal accented fenders and black 18" wheels......

Do you like the Blacked out SUPRA logo in the second pic or the new SUPRA logo in the first pic???
I had to download the pics of the boat as a PDF. Not sure how to get them to a normal image. Maybe one of you can help me an post it. I am on a MAC right now and not sure how to convert it.

These are the two wheel options I am considering from Boatmate. Both looks sweet and most importantly easy to clean. Love how Boatmate has so many options for wheels now. Would be cool if they create a "build your trailer" page on their website so we could see it... hint hint

Well since I just made the same decision on my new X Star I have to vote blacked out as well. Sweet boat! I did almost all black on the interior as well...btw

Thanks Mason for posting the pics...
Thanks guys for the suggestions... I really like the new SUPRA decals, but I think you guys might be right and I should go with the blacked out decals.... Hmmmm decisions.... I am thinking about making the interior darker as well.... I am going to put the order in tomorrow....

On the XStar they let you go all black on the inside if you want...I wanted a little bling so I added some lime to mine to accent.

Can't wait to see it Diggs! You have always produced some good looking boats.

Thanks Tyler! My last boat was a beautiful but little bit boring white and red star...so this time around I wanted something unique, risky, and slightly over the top...If I were going to sell it in a year or two I would go more mainstream, but I'll keep it for 5 years and hopefully 600hrs...so I'm getting what I like and not worrying about it. Choosing colors is so tough, I feel what you are going through as I had to lock in everything last week. I really like what you are doing with almost all black, my fun cars are all murdered out as well...love the look. Good luck in your decision!

Diggs, can I ask the reason you are choosing an SC over an SA? Just wondering why. I been wanting a new boat, but it won't happen any time soon for me. I like the larger bow on the SA, but like the look of both.
Old     (tyler97217)      Join Date: Aug 2004       12-02-2013, 4:43 PM Reply
Just ordered it!! I ended up going a bit darker inside.

Fullspeed
Was a tough decision as well but we really dont use the bow much, it was cheaper, latest greatest, little more geared to surf, etc.... Those were the main factors but I really like both of them pretty equal.

Can't wait to see it, I ended up jumping off the Malibu train and bought the Black SA from Greg. I really liked the SC but the wife wanted more bow room so we went with the SA. Heading over the pass in a few to finish up the paperwork.
Old     (tyler97217)      Join Date: Aug 2004       12-03-2013, 8:31 AM Reply
Ahhhhh.... eric you are the one that bought that SA. That is a sweet boat. Spent quite a bit of time eyeballing that thing.... Our colors will be pretty similar. Maybe one of these times we will get the Supra's together. Congrats.

Yeah I love black hate taking care of it but everything I own ends up being black. But wife's happy so that's what really matters.

We used to have a Supra/Moomba reunion in town. Now that we are getting some more of them around, we can start it up again. Hopefully AWS will do their Boat Buyers Reunion this year also...

I can't wait to see your boat in person! Tyler, there's a thread on the moomba forum about a PNW Supra/Moomba jam. It's labor day weekend at Prineville Reservoir.

Looks like if you book a campsite now, you can be in. 1/2 the campsites are still available at Prineville Res State Park.

DO IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Let's get some more Supra's there! I know a few of the local Moomba guys that will be there.

Oh, and I would have went with some sexy black metalflake!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And I actually loved the deep lip of the other wheels. But regardless, it's gonna look sick.

Damn..... always busy on Labor Day weekend... Wish we could have picked a better weekend...
Yeah the metal flake was more so I had to cut somewhere...
The wheels are really not that deep dish. That was just the offset on that picture. It would be similar to the others. I really like that wheel too though.
Old     (tn_rider)      Join Date: Dec 2009       12-04-2013, 9:47 AM Reply
I love everything about the boat. IMO the ONLY thing Id do different are the wheels. That boat is "thick". A deeper wheel on the trailer will fit it better IMO.

Chase
When you say deeper.... You mean a deeper dish/offsett? I think we are kind of bound to the trailer. They told me the dish on the one above that is all black will not be that deep. It is just an image and they need to go to the offset of the trailer or it won't fit under the fender. Other objective here is something easy to clean. Some of the other black wheels have so many grooves and holes that they are a pain to wipe down. We are fanatics about wiping down and being clean after we pull it out each time... This is one of the reason I came up with these wheels....
Here are some of the other options.... http://www.boatmateparts.com/product...f6513ec76c82ee

Yes, the deeper dish is what I was talking about. I think it will look better. However, either will be sick.
Old     (tn_rider)      Join Date: Dec 2009       12-04-2013, 10:37 AM Reply
The Moto metal 962 on their site is what is opt for. But that's just me.
Old     (tn_rider)      Join Date: Dec 2009       12-04-2013, 10:38 AM Reply
The 725 MB is like a mixture of both. That would be a tough choice for me as well.
Old     (tyler97217)      Join Date: Aug 2004       12-04-2013, 10:41 AM Reply
The 725 will be to tough to clean. Out of the question. The 962 will not be as deep as it looks in the pic. It will be the same as all the others once the offset is adjusted...
Looks like we are on the same page though cause those are all of my favorite wheels too!

I like the wheels you picked. I like the 713's but I don't think they will go with your boat. Grant and I get first party rights

Hey Ty, is Swell an option or standard on these SA/SC models now? 350 should be plenty suffice for what you're wanting to do. What plans do you got for ballast?
Old     (tyler97217)      Join Date: Aug 2004       12-05-2013, 9:04 PM Reply
Swell is an option but the dealer was adding for free on all boats ordered at evening with the stars. I would imagine that will be boat show marketing also???
I ordered the liquid lead ballast. That adds plug and play bags plumbed over factory hard tanks. Not sure on configuration till we play with it. I am sure there will be some experimenting.

Tyler, I sat in a SC at Atlanta Marine today that was only different in that the accent was silver flake. Looked incredible in person. If it had the SWELL on it, I'd have cut a check on the spot. The Suprafreak SC will be in town in a few days and we plan to demo it.

We better plan ahead and schedule his rebuild. At least pdx to Baton Rouge is a few miles closer!

Just got word that my new SC should arrive in Portland on Friday. Hopefully ready by next week and then stereo install.... I changed up the colors a bit and did all black with a black metal flake in the back. All black trailer. So it should look pretty much all black.... Pretty excited to get out in this bad boy and give some updates on SWELL....

Blair- I have not gotten any either.... I did not bug them for any. You really can't see the black flake option in the colorizer either. This is kind of like when you don't know the sex of your child and it just comes out and you find out. It is going to show up as a surprise for me...... Will have to see if they have any pics from the factory, but if so might have to wait and see them so I can still have the shock factor....
