more Mondo Pics

dash

Tower

glitter gel in the dark area looks like it might have a hexagon pattern to it?

Cory, I was just logging on to post those as well - haha.

I like the hex pattern in the graphics. Every 'tease' shot so far I've seen, I've liked. Especially the colors and interior.

Also looks like they moved the ballast switches to the dash, instead of down below.

Hope this thing shows up at the Texas Jam next month!

I love them! The rubber pads hold the boards while the racks are turned in and released. Both slots will accommodate either a wakeboard or a surf board. They hold the boards rattle free also.We also have the PTM edge 140 degree mirror and that is the bomb too! Excellent vision of your rider even on wide cuts.Helps with boats approaching from all sides too.

Not even close for the Mondo. Maybe for the Supra SC as MSRP.

Can't you get a loaded Mojo for 60kish?

I thought the mondo was smaller than the Mojo? Is it bigger?

Mondo Is Smaller Than The Mojo but Yes You Can Get A Loaded Mojo around 60 To 65 Ish

The Moomba dealer in my area said that the Mondo is going to be priced between the Outback V and the Mobius LSV. So definitely not 86K

$86k is not even close...yes you can get a nicely equipped Mojo for $60k ish depending on what you want. The Mondo is smaller than the Mojo and yes it will be less. These threads crack me up.

Mondo looks pretty sharp, if SC can step their game up and get a hull with some stability that will make a wake without battling wash, could easily see it doing better than Axis. Seat bases do look a little narrow, but will reserve final judgment until I see people sitting on it.

love the little seadeck pad on the top deck for getting in and out. and the shape of the vinyl over the speakers. grab bar looks random and useless there though. if I rememember AJs boat I think the axis has a similar situation right were youd rest your arm. maybe further forward.
I do like how closely they tried to match the seadec grey to the vinyl grey. unlike the G series that's kacky (spelling?) and doesn't match anything. color or pattern.
4 cup holders! impressive on such a short boat. LSV only has 2 or 3 I think.

Got to check out the SC450 yesterday. This is a cool boat! Can't post pics until the gods approve such acts. I will tell you it is another whole new look and feel again for Supra. Total new lines for Supra. It can surf, it has the same big wake as the SA at wakeboard speeds, it can keep a clean wake at slow speeds, total new lines, totally new materials, really cool graphics, just flat out new and different. Supra definitely wants to play and compete with the big boys with this and the SA.

I have been talking to my local dealer about trading in my boat on a new MB Tomcat. They did tell me that the 21 Tomcat will be replaced with a 22ft Tomcat and that there are going to be some good changes. They are hoping to find out some more info the beginning of next week, hope to place an order soon.

No it's a 14, but it's a 247, which didn't get changed this year. You can tell by the tabs and windshield

Yes, the turn signals are an awesome new feature but of course, like cars, no one will use them or they will drive for miles with it blinking unknowingly. The brake lights they added are really cool too.

In all seriousness, if it is like previous supra models, that is a lever that either lowers or raises the wake plate depending on which way it is pushed.

I don't know for certain but I think the SA/SC/S? are just new model designations to go along with the new running surfaces, construction method and design language that is coming across the Supra line.

I know from a marketing perspective, SA obtained the 'Shock and Awe' designation and the SC is being pegged as 'Smoke the Competition', but those are just kind of fun marketing play on words they're doing with the acronyms.

Either way, the boat is sick. I've seen a lot of other pics, and I think the market will receive it well in the sub 22' category.

I put my feet in the SC a couple days ago with no shoes on of course. I was impressed with what Shane and the good people at SkiersChoice were able to produce for the 21ft. category. The new front end will be nice. It sits a little low with full bow ballast so the new design should help eliminate surf waves breaching the sea wall. The new transom area was designed with people in mind... Not just wakeboarders. Over all it will be a nice edition to the brand and should hold its own with the X-10 and VLX when it comes to surfing.

I cannot wait to see the new Malibu LSV23 and Axis boats.

I hope Axis gives a windshield and tower option. I just can't get passed either of those. It would clean up their boat a ton IMO.

Lovin the Moomba/Supra additions so far.

I didn't go out in the water in it and didn't really get in the SC but I also got a chance to see it today. I liked the boat a lot and the direction Skier's Choice is going.

I will echo Spencer's thoughts about being very impressed with Shane. I could sit and talk for hours with him about boats and why he does certain things. It is very cool to talk design with him and why he did/does certain things. He also seems to just be a good dude.

Hopefully Shane can find a dealer in the Seattle area to do the Skier's Chioce line justice.

Shaun - The beauty about the Supra Vision Touch Screen System is that the technology is not totally crammed down your throat. Toggles switches operate independently of touch screen. So if your not a geek, proficient in touch screen navigation, newbie's can flip the switch instead. This something that Supra wanted to really differentiate themselves as a steep above.

As of 2013, this is a choice not offered by other manufactures and doubt that '14 has changed. I delivered a World's Addition, the other day, to a super sharp retired Foundry CEO, who obviously had the skillset to master the easy Touch Screen Navigation quickly, but flipping a toggle switch is easier when you have a brand new boat. Kudos to Supra for spending the extra time and engineering!

All Mastercraft's functions have back up switches as well which override the screen. I'm sure Supra pays MC a hefty royalty to be privy to that technology.

I really like the way the Supra dash looks. It's not like it's a $2 toggle form AutoZone, they are very clean looking.

Took delivery of my SA about a month ago . I love the toggles work great when buddies are towing that are not as familiar with the screen. Also love the fact that you can be running stereo settings , messing with rider settings and turning on lights all at once without ever moving out of your home screen . This SA converted me from a die hard Malibu guy and will never look back ! Seeing pics of the new SC and and riding behind my SA not sure how they can make this thing any better ! But really excited to see what they roll out for 14 .

On my 2013 MC there are back up switches for lights, heater, ballast, plate, basically everything that all the non touchscreen boats have manual switches for. The only thing that really "has" to go through the touchscreen is the Perfect pass, and even on a Axis the PP has a little screen with buttons. The Murphy touchscreen systems are very similar between MC, CC and Supra.

Hopefully they all don't go broke trying to out do each other.....Maybe the market has grown enough to support all this R&D

On that order above, I would skip the 350. It's identical to the 335 and it'll save you about $1200 I think it is? The 2nd tracking fin probably as well, but I don't know how the additional length will work with a single. Zero problems with a single on the A22...

Then I would definitely get swivel racks and MAYBE the Z5...

You'd go 335 on a 24ft boat? I know I'm at alt, but even at sea level LSVs struggle to plane when sacked out, and the axis built to be sacked out. 24ft boat needs at least the 410, I wouldn't order it with less than the 450. So tack on another 4-7k on that price to make that boat legit.
Old    Sheldon (Fiveflat)      Join Date: Sep 2010       07-15-2013, 11:54 AM Reply
I would go 335 over the 350 absolutely. I would prefer the LS3 of course...
I don't think $4k will cut it. I believe the LS3 on the '12 and '13 models is a $7k option.

That's about right, and if you want a 24ft boat you will want to spend that. Nothing worse than a big bad boat that can't get on plane when you try to get the wake it's built for out of it.

Axis A24 with a 5.7L sounds like a bad idea. Especially if you are going to be running a couple thousand or more pounds and a wedge. I could see the average family getting by with the 350hp motor if it had an auto launch trim plate but Malibu/Axis doesn't offer that.

This is not correct Malibu's have the wedge that adjust automatically as you pull up on plane. Don't remember exactly when they added this but was in the past few years.

It still doesn't help the boat get on plane does it? It might go back to neutral like it wasn't there but it doesn't actually go far enough forward to push the rear up/nose down does it? Also, doesn't Axis not even offer the power wedge?

It does basically the same thing as most tabs do. My supra just goes back to level it does not actually go past neutral. Just adds surface area behind the boat. Wedge does the same all the way down. Axis is only a floating wedge and I did not mention it.

Huh, I guess that surprises me that the tab on Supra's and other boats wouldn't go "past" neutral as to lift the transom/push the bow down. At neutral it would help keep the bow down some but not like it would if it went past neutral.

It does go beyond neutral at least on the new ones. It gets you on plane and then you can adjust up to 100% or down to 0% to either get a more vert wake or rampy etc.

I have an 07 Moomba and the wakeplate definitely goes past neutral...

I don't think the wedge in any configuration helps the boat plane out. Case in point, overloaded malibu, planes out with no wedge, wedge all the way down, no planing...

I posted that on TOS. It was quoted. Still not sure If i'm going to pull the trigger or not. I haven't had the issues everyone has with the 335 on my a22. I run full PNP, wedge, and have 5+ people in the boat. I just stick the girls in the bow.

This is from the Malibu website. Its marketing but the info is still there.

Power Wedge™

Automatically position the Power Wedge ™ to increase size and customize the shape of your wake. Create more or less lip with the push of a button, then save your favorite spot on a preset. The Power Wedge has the added benefit of the Auto Wedge Feature, which saves fuel and time to plane. As you are getting on plane, the wedge drops to the least amount of resistance up until you are near your cruise set point. Quicker time to plane, less bow rise, and less RPM is needed to pull a rider out of the water. As the boat nears its set speed, the Power Wedge ™ goes back to its set position. This also happens in tight turns. The patented technology of the Power Wedge is what has kept Malibu as the leader in producing the most versatile boats in the industry.

These are wake plate pictures. I have never seen my plate go past this point or any picture of a Supra plate past this position. The pictures show the automatic return position which is all the way down.

Auto wedge all the way down helps planing over other wedge positions, it does not aide in planing vs no wedge though... It is not a planing device.

Additionally it does not do the same thing Supra's or anyone elses TAB does, the wedge pulls the rear of the boat down... I'd be interested to put a straight edge along the bottom of the hull like a supra to see if the wake plate provides stern lift or if it truly is flat off the back of the hull...
