has anyone recycled their prop for scrap metal?
I have an old OJ legend 3 blade that cannot be repaired and i'm thinking of just taking it to the local recycler to see how much i could get for it.
Not sure what you'd get for that alloy, but last time I made a scrap run I believe iron was around $9 per hundred. When scrap was at its peak I'd get a few hundred per pickup load of mostly iron/steel.
Point being, you won't get anything for a single prop. Start a pile, when it weighs at least 1000 lbs bring them for scrap. I feel for you if you go through enough props to be worth a scrap run.
i would doubt you can even recycle its. its a alloy, not a single type of metal. so when melting it down you would have to find a way to re seperate the puddles of liquid metal.
ski boat props are made from Nibral. short for Nickle Brass Aluminum.
i highly doubt there recyclable..........
Great wall hanger and thats about all if its not repairable. I have a couple on my garage wall that are great conversation pieces. All were donated, always been lucky myself.
