Nah pretty sure they were real. The Franks go with the Bill's colour scheme, as do the green and white ones. Its pretty standard for the hello my name is series to look crazy, and it sells pretty well. I wouldn't be surprised to see a bunch of people rocking orange boots next season, seeing as so many went for the green this year. Can't wait to see the red One to go with the black boots, or what they'll do with the Phoenix. I'm hoping for something loud cos this year was kinda bland.
I'm loving the colours for 2012!.

where is the other ronix stuff?
The squareone link doen't work anymore, The new boards are safed in the folger 'Instructional' by changing the last number in the link you can go in the 'Categories'. For example 47 for ronix, with 471 you can go to product 1 in this categorie, but I without been logged in you well get back to the main page... :/

Saw next years ronix lineup as a whole. Just like this year I like the regualr viva more then the ATR. Still want to see the 2012 hyperlite B-side, another really fun board

I tried to take a pic of it at Nationals and the Ronix Rep Tweaked on me! I just laughed and said I was going to post it on Wakeworld!

The Hyperlite System? Yes. There's a sneak peak of 'em on the first page of this thread somewhere. Several actually.

Systems are great. I was a huge skeptic before I rode them. There's a new toe strap for 2012 and locking high backs. I personally want to try a capstrap, but not sure if it will fit. Anyone have the ability to test that for me?

Couldn't agree more. Yuck! I'm not jealous . It seems like nothing has really changed on it as far as bottom features, so it should still be a sick ride. The M6 inserts might solve the awful heel lift my Harley has though. I might be a little jealous of that.

I'll bet you can get a great deal on a 2011 Harley in the next few months. It was a cheap board to begin with.

The CWB release so far is pretty cool. The new boot they have for cable looks dope! It has a removable inner sock for walking around, top of the foot is laces and above the ankle is a velcro strap, no Hinge and it looks gangster!

If liquid forces chassis is patent pending, how did they claim infringement against ronix and company? And how is glue to hold things together a patentable idea?

RM, LF probably wouldn't of won, but they knew full well tieing Company up in Legal fees would make them run out of money. Anyways there's a whole thread that was going on for months about this.

I saw the new Harley in the shop the other day: BRIGHT!!!!!! that thing is super glow in the top deck. That base is a bit more subdued.

Wow, a huge step backward graphically in my opinon. I think Ronix had one of the best looking lineups in the industry this year, but the only one of these that I like the look of is the Bill, and I think it looks a bit worse than this year's model and a lot worse than the 2010 model. Does anyone think otherwise?

I'm sure they'll ride great, and that's what really matters, but I'm not feeling this conservative, minimalist, neon, homogenous design theme.

Like someone said above, the 2012 parks board is probably modeled after the one board. They look very similar, at least in the pics anyway.

I also thought I should point out if your looking for the harley board, it's now down to 300 with free shipping on evo.com. Already a hundred bucks off, thats a pretty good deal.

Shouldn't be any problems using other boots...

The video mentioned that the board will come with hardware, the boots will too, and so will dealers be carrying them. All that will need to be done is obtain the right bolts, which should not be too much more hassle than the issues we already deal with when mixing brands of gear... such as when we need to add washers due to bolt depth issues.

HOWEVER on a separate note... i am still miffed that LF has not made replaceable straps for the vantage boots (because by the time I wear them down the boot will be out of warranty). If they did make 'em replaceable it might sweeten the sour image LF has in my head with all the drama this past year... but as someone said before, that is for another thread
Slingshot's 2011 options boots with replaceable straps (FINALLY someone did it!) were not quite there in the support i was hoping for/used to. and i was kinda hoping for closed toe. happy with my RADs but still have hopes for the future of strap boots.

Pretty much all the new Ronix boards look like entry level combo packages to me. Not that there were actual entry level boards that looked like that. They just don't look special.

Those ones would look sick on the harley. My current set up is the '11 ones on the '11 shane board and its the same situation. its almost as if LF called up Ronix and asked what colors theyre making the bindings and decided to match them identitcally lol its cool cause the shane bindings for '11 look stupid

I have been sharing the benefits i feel of having a neoprene sock on for a couple years now at least. Though i have not tried these boots, i can agree that a neo sock does indeed make things superiorly comfortable, especially the toes on those not-so-friendly slams that the toes can sometimes take in Closed toe boots with inferior toe-box cushioning... but i also have a toenail that grows funny and causes problems in that area anyway

To me this boot makes me think of a hybrid of SS removable liner (RAD boot) and the neo socks my buddy and i have been wearing for a couple years or more.

I just noticed this, but don't those fins on the '12 Harley look a lot longer (parallel with the board length, not deepness length) than the '11 model?
I wonder if the deepness changed also?
Old     (TheHebrewHammer)      Join Date: Jun 2011       08-18-2011, 10:10 PM Reply
Sean O'Brien was awesome enough to let me take a set on his 2012 Paradigm today. I'll hold off on passing a final judgement on the board because it had prototype fins on it, it was a size bigger than what I would've chosen, and the conditions were pretty rough. I will say that the ollie pop on it is ridiculous! It ollies sooooo much higher than my Harley. It was also a little lighter than the Harley, which few boards are. Sean said the only difference to the board from 2011 is graphics, so I'm seriously considering picking up a 2011 Paradigm for cheap!

The big news IMO is the boots. He had these new boots for 2012 called the Nomads, which he didn't personally design. They were SICK! They had a super supportive heel with nice fat J-bars that held my ankle perfectly and a cushy footbed with a nice arch in the instep. I always thought my Harley bindings were good, but these were amazing! Even the Ronix One bindings I tried later in the day were no match for the supportive comfort and fit of the Nomads! They still have the canted chassis from 2011. WakeWorld members are raving about how this chassis saves your knees on hard landings. They must be on to something, because LF has decided to steal this idea with their new ipX chassis. There was none of the appalling heel lift that my Harleys have. Finally, the outsides were largely made of a mesh that drained well and made the bindings super light. I really want these bindings, but I'm bummed because Sean said they won't be available until around Christmas, and I'm looking to replace my setup by October so that I can take advantage of a season pass to the cable.

I'm thinking of selling my board and buying a 2011 Paradigm but keeping the Harley boots until the Nomads come out. The 2011 O'Brien Decade bindings that Sean was riding previously are supposed to be awesome, but now that I've felt the Nomads I'm not sure I'll be able to settle for anything less!

Sean is a class act and a super nice guy, not to mention an incredibly talented and dedicated rider. If you ever get the chance to meet him or ride with him, seize it! And sorry guys, but I have no pics of the Nomads. They have a grayish metallic shell, not as bright as chrome but brighter than the topcoat of the 2011 Ronix Phoenix Project board. The accents are green to match Sean’s 2012 Paradigm, and the laces are pretty standard black thread with ball-hitch style clips that pop into holes in the boots to prevent the ends from flopping around.

how is your current set-up keeping you from taking advantage of a season pass to the cable?

I didn't get the grind base on my Harley cause I had no desire to do cable at the time. I could just use it for boat and get another board for cable, but I think it makes more sense to sell it and get one board that's great at both now that such boards exist. I don't want to scratch it up on the rails because then it will be even more worthless than used wakeboards already are.

I would go the opposite route, if you're riding cable that much, and still some boat, as well as looking at another board, get a second board for the cable, then you have a nice one for the boat. Plus Performance always has those demos you can get for cheap and trash at the cable.

Well I'm only going to do it if I'm convinced that a cable-friendly board I try can match the speed, pop, and surface feel of the Harley. That way I'm not sacrificing anything behind the boat. I'm convinced that the Paradigm has the speed and the pop, but I'm not sold on the surface feel yet. I'm going to try it again on smooth water before I decide. I think I want to ride flex or at least hybrid flex behind the boat because I think it will be more fun, so that's another reason to get rid of the super-stiff Harley.

Having two boards just doesn't seem to make a lot of sense to me from a practicality standpoint or money-wise. Those demo boards you mentioned sound interesting. Can you please explain?

I have a few different boards I ride.. Just depending on the mood or what I want to work on that day.. I have a 2010 CWB Vibe 142, a 2011 Witness Grind and just ordered a 2011 Watson Hybrid. My Vibe is my rail/ trash board.. I use to hit janky obstacles.. or just press on rails.. My witness has been used the most recently and i use it for more air tricks and kicker tricks bc the Vibe landed like a rock.. Now that I have the Watson Hybrid.. It may become my all around board and Ill just save the witness for boat.. There is always something justifyable about buying new gear...

money wise I can understand, but practicality wise, a cable board gets trashed, that's why you're interested in a grind base, and likely a Flex. Personal opinion, you don't need some new end all be all brand new board to be your only ride. Get a cable board, and a boat board. Then you're not out behind the boat afraid to grab your board because you'll slice your hand, or I'm yelling at you because your tearing up my upholstery.

performance normally has boards out front of their store, which are used, and they sell for pretty cheap. They also have a sale 1-2 times a year where they're even cheaper. Not like it used to be though, but still good deals.

Practicality-wise, I meant that it's a hassle for me to store and ship two boards (which I've been doing this year because I haven't gotten around to selling my beginner board) since I'm a college student and I travel and ride in both CT and FL. Thanks for the tip on Performance. I'm definitely gonna take a look at what deals they have when I go there for the Gravel Tour in a few weeks.

get a used board bag, a park board, a boat board, and go high end on the bindings, pretty easy to travel with

Ahhh, so you're saying two boards and one sets of bindings? That could work pretty well...

Do you think that by choosing a single board to do both jobs I would be sacrificing a little in both areas? Are boat boards and cable boards just better than boards that try to straddle that line?

it's what you make it. You find a board you like, go with that board. I'm just saying having separate park and boat boards is ideal in my opinion if it's possible to do in your situation. I like flex for both, but actually don't use flex for cable because I use an older LF Grindbase board at this time. i don't want to trash my flex board because I like it on the boat, and am saving up for one to use on cable. I'm weird, I don't ride new/current year boards, too expensive for me.

I'm thinking of bringing a different flex board with me when I try the Paradigm again so that I can compare different kinds of flex. I already tried the Ronix Phoenix Project today and I didn't like it. What else should I try? Slingshot Hooke? Recoil? LF Watson/Shane Hybrid? Others?

I have ridden the LF Deluxe Hybrid and I have to say that it was a blast!! But also in my efforts to find an all around board.. I bought the LF Watson Hybrid.. For one.. I love the Watson shape.. always have.. For 2..combine that shape with its speed and great pop to a hybrid.. Now I have the best of both worlds.. Riding it next Friday and I'll get on and rave and rant about how much I like it.. Bc I know I will XD
