Going to try wakeboarding this weekend and I am wonder the best way to drive to get up?

Skiing I put the hammer down and back off once up. Keep the speed around 25-30mph.

Kneeboard I start slow until the person is up and straped in. Speed up to around 20mph

Is wakeboarding somewhere in between? Any advice would be appreciated.

depends on rider skill level and size.

definitely not a hammer down start. wakeboards have way more surface area than skis so it only requires a gradual start.
get up to 18-22mph depending on skill and size of rider. (beginning kids can ride at like 15 or as slow as the boat will go and be on plane)

i guess you could say that it is a start that is kind of between skiis and kneeboard

With new riders I like to ease on the throttle trying to keep a nice smooth delivery all the way up to 3/4-full throttle. If it is a bigger rider I will get on the throttle a little more a little faster. I do the opposite for smaller riders. Just like Jeremy said put them somewhere between 18-22 mph.

Slow for newbies. Once they are getting up okay, It doesn't really matter.

And don't do a power turn when a rider falls!

In a straight line.

When pulling up a rider(especially newbies)- give a little drag pull before the actual hard throttle. This will help lock the rider in the position.
Drive the boat in a straight line
Keep the speed constant at all time. If you dont have perfect pass, try and watch the RPMS versus the speed.
When turning, make a sharp turn, then get back on the striaght line course. Dont make a long continuos curve.
