Looking at the 2011 F150 with the 5.0. Has anyone bought a vehicle from Ford with the X-Plan. I let the dealer know where I worked just in a basic conversation. When he came back with a price, he said I was eligible for X-Plan pricing and that was the BEST I could get. It seems like a good deal, which I guess is all a person can ask for. As long as the individual is happy with the deal, the it is a good deal.

Just wondering what others thought of X-Plan pricing.

You should be able to do better than x-plan in the current market. X-plan is fast and easy but its rarely the best deal on any given day in a given market. Find the same truck at three or four nearby dealers and offer 500-1000 less than x-plan and see what happens. Remember cars and especially trucks are commodities. Its always a buyers market.

I bought a new truck a few weeks ago. I drove the 5.0 F-150.

My dealer was not willing to budge much on the pricing. He said Ford just released the new F150 with the two new motors (5.0 and Eco) and with a limited number of these on the lot, they had no special incentives.

The Ford dealer knocked 2K off the MSRP. The GMC dealer knocked 9K off, and the GMC truck was 2K cheaper to begin with.

The 5.0 motor is badass, but for an additional 5 figures, I had to pass.

If you want a good deal on a 5.0, I would wait a few months.

I bought an F250 last April on the Xplan and when talking to the sales guy he said that the Xplan i was getting was $150 above the dealer invoice + any incentives they had at the time which was $6000........ to me it was a good deal because it took about 11k give or take off the sticker before my trade was added.

I bought my Mustang with the X Plan back in '05 when no dealer would budge off of sticker but the X Plan isn't that great of a deal, you can usually negotiate a better deal on your own. If the dealers aren't giving that great of a deal to begin with, I would then try and use it but always try on your own first and then use that as the last resort.

XPlan is great for cars that are selling near MSRP. You walk in, wave your hand like a Jedi, and get a much better price. The problem is that it's a strict "no negotiation" deal so it really is take it or leave it. With markdowns, leftovers, etc, you might be better off just negotiating.

I bought a 2010 F150 5.3 three weeks ago. Traded in my F350 diesel. They had discounted the the 2010 $5,500, gave me the xplan discount (I think it was $1,850) plus another $1,500 in Ford incentives.

I could have ordered the 2011 eco but the deal worked.

X plan is a way to get a good deal on a new vehicle without any hassle or negotiation, save for the trade. Its almost always $100 over invoice which depending on your area might be fantastic, here where I live I can almost always do a little better so long as you are not looking at a GT500 or Raptor. There was a time I could use the X plan would allow me to offer an even better deal to customers but Ford has cracked down on this and made it so if we are to be subsidized by them on X plan deals we cannot deviate from the designated pricing.

I just bought a new tahoe for $4,000 under invoice which was about $7,500 under MSRP.

With gas prices going up and the month and quarter about to end - you can get a good deal

I am sure that ford is willing to deal just like chevy

Well and just an FYI thats before any rebates so on a new F150 that can be $3000-$4000 under depending on rebates.

X plan works great if you don't like negotiating and there are big incentives. Some may get better deals, some worse. At one time the local dealer had X plan +10k in incentives to clear out older F150 XLT's. Of course it depends on the model at the time and incentives.
