Red cameras are a really big deal. They have shot many of the movies and TV shows that we watch every day.

Yes, they are awesome, and they better be for about $50k, when all is said and done. A drop in the bucket compared with the kind of cameras that it can compete with.

I haven't had experience with the products, but I had a chance to spend time with their founding/management team. Very cool place and they are turning the "industry" camera business on its ear. They can't produce the camera's fast enough to keep up with demand.

Honestly, a Canon 5M Mark II can do everything a Red can do and they are around $2500 for the body alone. The last episode of "House" was shot with a 5D Mark II.
