My son got a wake up call. He bumped someone, while at a light, while looking at his phone. Yes, he was looking at a text. Damage to the rear of the car/people he hit? zero. Damage to his car? $2000 after a $250 deductible. He was lucky, I just hope he learned a lesson.
On the way home from his apartment one night, which is almost 3 hours away, we followed a young girl driving and texting. She was swerving this way and that and I really wanted to call the police just to see if they could give her a warning. A warning that may save her life. Her tag was easy to remember, but since it was several months ago, I have forgotten it. In hindsight, after my son's accident, I wished I had taken the time the next day to call the local law enforcement.
