New to boating. 97 Nautique Sport.

When I'm at around 3500 RPM I can feel vibration in the floor. Nothing in the steering though. I picked up the engine box and the engine is not vibrating at all. Where the drive shaft comes through no vibrations. Lower and higher RPMs I can't really feel any vibrations. Once or twice the tower did vibrate from a hole shot which I thought was weird as well.

I had the pin shier from the drive shaft so I had my prop sent in to be fixed and the mechanic said the drive shaft itself was not bent.

Am I just being paranoid? Or should I have it looked at again by a different mechanic? Could I be using a crappy prop that can't handle this big of a boat?

I know vibrations are nothing to mess with and can cause long term damage to the transmission, engine, etc. so that's why I ask. Thank you for your time.

Sounds like a bad prop to me

maybe the prop is not balanced?

If you are not feeling vibrations at RPM's above and below 3500 it is probably just a resonate frequency that is occurring. An out of balance prop, bent shaft, or cavitation would increase vibration as the RPM increased.

Big Nate: so I am assuming this is something I shouldn't worry about it and am just being paranoid / over reacting? or?

Thanks for the feedback guys.

If you are constantly operating and maintaining a 3500 RPM and feeling the vibration you would probably want to look into reproping your boat so that you are not running there. But if you are just passing through it, I wouldn't worry about it too much.
