Need to sort out my pawer situation for the new stereo. Its about 1400w and i want to have a battery bank that relys on an onboard charger at the dock.
Looking at my kicker 800.4 amps specs it got me thinking-
In Watts, All Channels Driven
@ 13.8V, 4Ω Stereo, 0.085% THD 100 x 4
@ 13.8, 2Ω Stereo, 0.2% THD 200 x 4
@ 13.8, 4Ω Mono, 0.4% THD 400 x 2
As i will be running off 2x6v stand alone batteries that are not connected to the alternator im going to be running the amps at 12v not 18.8. Will this noticeably reduce the performance of the amplifiers?
Over here in the UK anything to do with boats it a lot more expensive than for you guys in the states as we have a much smaller market. I have been looking at getting 2x 6v batteries and have found the following that are reduced to clear-
HGL220-6(DCG220-6) AT LESS THAN HALF PRICE GEL BATTERIES 6 VOLT 220AMP. THEY CAN LAST UPTO FOUR TIMES LONGER THAN TROJAN T105 AND T125
Replacement for Trojan T105/T125
20 hour rate (10A to 5.25Volts) 220AH
10 hour rate (18A to 5.25Volts) 190AH
5 hour rate (33A to 5.1Volts) 175AH
Internal Resistance Full charged 77f(25c) 1.7mΩ
by Temperature (20hour rate)
Capacity after 3 month storage 91%
Capacity after 6 month storage 82%
Capacity after 12 month storage 64%
Standard Terminal M8
(Minutes to 5.25V at 80℉(27℃)
@ 25Amps 400Min
@ 75Amps 100Min
Would 2 of these do the job?
