My manual says I am supposed to pull two bolts (4 sided head) out of the tops of the drive housing.
1) They are a real pain to get out and no water seems to come out
2) Looking at other threads, no one seems to mention this winterization process.

Thoughts?

I don't know what drive you've got but those could be for the heat exchanger and it would be to let air in to bleed out the water to a lower spot.
