Just took my old board (6'1 twin fin fish)out on the weekend that we stopped using because the glass was cracking everywhere and it was getting water logged.

It was dry and felt like it would hold up for the day. It was a ton of fun and would like to keep using it, but it will need to be reglassed or repaired because it is cracked everywhere.

Thinking about sanding the entire board and refinishing it.....?

Any tips?

You might check with Matt S or Billy, but I've salvaged some of my abominations by:

patching all the dings. Then, using 100-150 grit paper sand the whole board. Next use an opaque gelcoat to cover it all up and finally, regloss the board leaving the original lamination in place.

Thanks, that's what I was thinking.

Jeff is right on, leaving the original fiberglass in place is probably the best way to go unless you want to shape a new shape from the foam...

Is it poly or epoxy?

It's an old poly I am thinking??? It's probably from the 80's.

Just super fun for wakesurfing so I want to keep it around, and it is the board that we started wakesurfing on about 15 years ago so it has some sentimental value as well.
