I have tested 3 different props on my A22 this year and have a write up on the Axis forum. If you are an Axis owner or Future Axis owner, definately check this out before you choose your prop.

If you are a Malibu owner or future Malibu owner, this information may be helpful and SHOULD translate to your VTX, VLX, Vride (09+), and 23 LSV's, but may not.

Wow, very extensive write up! Very nice on taking several variables into factor! I have a 5 blade on my 04 VLX and a friend of mine has an acme 1235 on his 05 VLX. we were always curious which one performed better as we noticed everything was pretty similar too, except the 200 rpm difference.

Also what we have noticed in compression from 5 blade and the Acme is that the 5 blade slows down allot faster. kinda like when you're running with the wedge down. I'm guessing it's the extra surface area of the 5 blade. Did you notice this?

I did not notice that. Unfortunately I did not have the 1235 with me the day I tested the two OJ's. It was real nice testing the OJ's back to back, the differences were very apparent. Not so with the 1235 test. We threw it on and dropped the boat in, did not do a side by side with any other prop, but I don't doubt that the cinco helps slow the boat a little better. One more blade, and most likely more surface area.

I have to agree. I had an Axis a22 and found that the 1235 was the better of the two props all around but the OJ 5-blade is a close second(good backup)......

If you start weighting your boat heavier you should try the 1873 from acme.

I found the 1873 to be worse than the 1615. I'm sold on the Acme 2315. I'll never go back.

I'll add this to the mix. I kept great fuel records on my 04 VLX with the monsoon and I had an Acme 537 on it.. I switchwed to a Acme 1235 and my fuel savings varied from about 1.2 to 1.6 GPH with the 1235. The prop paid for itself in one season in fuel savings. When I sold my 04 I kept the 1235 and put it on my 09. I lost about 4 mph on the top end, but this wasn't an issue since my boat spends 98% of it's time at 21-24 MPH. I have no idea how the 5 blade does on fuel compared to the 1235.

I will tell you that if you keep your boat loded PNP 750's or 1100's full you may need the 2315 to get out of the hole. It is a MONSTER!! But it will burn more fuel no question, when not loaded.

I have been hearing about the 2315 for a while, wakeprops.com has it available but Acme's website does not list it.

That thing is a beast 15 x 12.... I would worry about the size being too close to the bottom of the hull, can anyone with 100+ hours with that prop on an Axis chime in?

wakeprops has the 2079 as their choice for the most aggressive prop for the Axis line. it is 14.5 x 12, so same pitch as the 2315 but will give you 1/4" more clearance.

Either way, both those props will pull a house down. Down side is top end will be horrible for people who like to cruise, or need to take long rides to get to their spots, RPM's will be high all the time, and fuel consumption can't be good. I get incredibly good gas consumption with my cinco, it is barely enough prop to get me up, but the running rpms, quietness, smoothness, and fuel consumption makes it a really good prop. Can't wait to get more time with the 1235 I have.

the 2315 is the best prop for this boat if you're using plug in play and the wedge. I couldn't get the boat on plane with 750's in the back with the 335 and now i can with this prop. i have around 350 hours on my boat and it will plane way faster than the cinco.

Yea I have atleast 100 hours on my A20 with the 2315 and zero issues. I will let you know I'm more concerned about the wake than fuel consumption though. I don't even bother running those numbers so I can't help you out there. I'm sure it's horrible though.

I installed it on a friends boad and I measured it. if I'm not mistaken it had almost 3/4 inch clearance.

I am assuming the 2315?

So RWB, no gel burn or "prop burn" under the boat? I heard this could happen if there is not enough of a gap between prop and boat, but have never seen it.

I would love to get my hands on the 2079 and 2315 to do a test with

Zero issues at all Johnny. I had a good long talk with Jim at ACME before I went to this prop. If you have any questions at all he is your man.

I have the 1235 on my 2008 VLX. It does pretty well, but from what I have heard about the 2315, I want to go with it. If anyone wants a used 1235, I'll be selling mine soon.

As is, it may need cleaned up a bit and the prop could stand to be polished out, 8/10 condition but still works fine, probably $350 shipped. With it cleaned up at the local prop shop sold in 10/10 condition, probably $475 shipped.

anybody try out the Acme 1589? I was told by acme that it was also a good alternative to the 1235, but since it is new there isn't many reviews out there.

Anyone try out the 2249? It's the same specs as the 1235 in a 15" prop.
