Right, I would say surfing probably just isn't for you then.

It's more about the organic feeling of only using the power of a wave and the thrill of not relying on a rope. Not everyone is going...

The best advice I was ever given on boat...

The best advice I was ever given on boat ownership was to pay a professional to winterize any v-drive boat.

If you miss doing any of the above listed steps perfectly, you could be looking at...

Seriously? Here is was about to go put 4,500 lbs of ballast in my little 21' 1,350# "max capacity" boat to try and recreate that wave.

Ha! Sweet video Ragboy. Dat board!

Nate, I thought the same thing a year ago. I didn't want to like surfing - had some friends who were into it and I said I'd stick to wakeboarding. Then I tried...

Fun to follow his progression. Am I the only one who wants to see more video footage of Ragboy surfing spliced into these?

It is a cool picture, though impractical if it were as big as it appears. I would get fined and banned for making a wake half that size on any lakes in my state.

I certainly subscribe to this theory for my boat -- it's a huge night and day difference if I add 350 lbs to the non-surf back corner. Not only does it help keep the boat from planing, but it...

Big guy

The thing is, big dudes, especially, need to try out a surf board before buying it. This is way more important for surfing than wakeboarding. Otherwise, you are likely to order the board that...

Board for bigger guys

I'm a somewhat bigger guy (195lbs) and I would say part of it has to do with skill -- the ability to edge into the wave just enough to feel some lift and direct the board slightly downward.

I...

Review -- 2013 Liquid Force Custom Thruster

I demo'd a Liquid Force Custom Thruster 4'10" with hopes of upgrading to a surf style board from a broadcast 5.4. Once I got used to the board I was a able to have fun with it, but I just couldn't...

I really like that wake shape. If I were to run #2700 in my back corner, my back corner would be under water.

So, I'm thinking for a boat that can't take a ton (literally) in the back corner, it...

The sacs in the surf corner and under the side seat are Fly High. The ones in the non-surf corner and bow are Free Motion. I throw 2 pumps over the side at the same time, but still kind of a pain. ...

Wakesurf weighting theory

It seems like there are two schools of thought for boat weighting to wakesurf:

1. Start heavy in the back surf corner and work up the side, keeping all weight on the surf side.

2. Sink the...

My 2004 Centurion Eclipse Wakesurf sac diagram

After much trial and error, this is the configuration that seemed to produce the best surf wake with my 2004 Centurion Eclipse v-drive. When I put weight up in the bow, it seemed to shorten the...
