Also, you would be surprised how nice the VLX wake is at slower speeds with stock ballast and the power wedge. Extra weight can certainly be fun, but it doesn't always help progress your riding.

I think you have some really good basic skills to progress your riding. I would suggest slowing down the boat, the wash should be 1-2 feet behind where you hit the wake. Slower speeds make it easier...
