The torque numbers I posted were provided to SC dealers by Indmar. As far as "no loss of power" with the cat converters on the 340MPi, that's from Indmar also.

My understanding is the "pro" riders for Tige' use ballast and don't really rely on the TAPS system. Likewise, the Malibu "pro's" don't really use the Wedge and rely on water ballast...ummm.

Peter Granata who heads up MDRA (Marine Design Resource Alliance)is the designer of both the Cobalt and the X-star. I beleieve the Cobalt was designed first and then MC picked up on it.

21V is only 6" greater in length at 21'-2" but looks pretty massive next to the 20V. Like Jon mentioned, the 21V is a much deeper cockpit (3"-4")...and 5" wider in beam at 100", higher seat bases...
