That is a tough question, yes there is more ballast but as to how much is a guess. Supposedly the 06-08 came with 900lbs, and the 09's are now around 1200.

I have owned both and now in an X15 which I feel offers the best of both worlds. The X1 has a better wakeboard wake, but not the surf wake of the X2. So it really depends on what your going to use...
