Depends....we use a four blade at our local lake, because its not that deep. But when we go on vacation, we use a three blade because the lake is dep. Both wakes are different. Its all up to you....

I own a '93. Origional prop is a 4 blade. Sounds like bad prop. New boat to you i would start with the cheepest. Take off the prop and have it checked or just buy a new one, always have a spare.
