JB, normally a component system can 'take' more wattage...that's what we're after here. The Sony's/Pioneers/etc...normally around 55w rms max. That's not much. Take the HIGH end (usually)...

Ed, put a piece of wood behind the fiberglas for your drill bit (of the hole saw) to dig into. That should hold it in place for you to get the bigger hole saw started. Run the hole saw in reverse...

Sacs are the way to go. Don't have to fill up if you don't want...but it's there if you need it! Plus, you get complete storage when drained.
