I did that on my old boat. I got tired of oiling it all the time, so i cleaned it all up and used a marine spar varish and it lasted about 3-4 years looking brand new.

I rode a 2010 Ronix Ibex 3 times and it broke. I called them and no questions asked gave me a new 2011 Ibex. they are awesome.

I went through about 6 of those pumps. I was told they were a bad batch. Kept having to bring back after 1-2 uses. I got an adapter and switched to another brand.
