Yummy!

norcal_99 09-22-2003 3:50 PM

That's cool. How did you get the pics of production?

Which tower are you getting?

cfisher 09-22-2003 3:53 PM

The Malibu sales guy is providing excellent customer service. He contacted someone at the factory and asked them to take pics along the way!!

I am getting the Skylon Swoop tower - polished.

blabel 09-22-2003 4:05 PM

That is one sweet lookin boat.

norcal_99 09-22-2003 4:05 PM

Awesome service.

Nice boat, I like the colors.

levi 09-22-2003 4:31 PM

Looks great! I heard that the Backrolls are much easier behind the '04 bu!

deepstructure 09-22-2003 4:43 PM

wow - really nice christie! sweetness.

kimmy 09-22-2003 4:53 PM

Like the color, looks good.

wantboatnow 09-22-2003 5:03 PM

What color is the interior? All I can think of is ouch, its gonna burn your ass. I have light grey in my boat on it burns, dont want to even imagine that dark of a color and the temp its gonna be.

hatepwcs 09-22-2003 5:10 PM

Don't think ill be up this fall, so ill see you next spring!!!!! Save me a seat!!!!!

hatepwcs 09-22-2003 5:11 PM

Going to look awesome on the water and off the chain behind your excursion.

wakelvr 09-22-2003 7:36 PM

Looks great Christie! That color scheme looks really nice... reminds me of something though but can't quite put my finger on it......

cfisher 09-22-2003 8:16 PM

Levi - I hope you are right about those backrolls

Chad - The colors are platinum and charcoal gray. I struggled with choosing the darker color because of the heat factor, but my light interior in the old boat got hot in the summer time too.....I'll just put extra towels in the boat!

Chris - there will be a seat with your name on it for sure...come on up!

Stef - That's what Josh is telling me...it's the Raider boat....he can keep THINKING that...haha!

kevin_bird 09-22-2003 8:39 PM

So umm... if you ever need a third ya know?

cramey 09-22-2003 8:39 PM

can i ride it?

cough cough, powell trip?

lfxstar 09-22-2003 8:42 PM

as 50-cent would say, that boat is P I M P

paulsmith 09-22-2003 8:51 PM

Aw, crap. Now I want a VLX even more.

dococ 09-22-2003 9:06 PM

I think the interior color scheme came out looking bad @ss, and with a polished tower, oh man... "Ev'ry time I come around your city bling, bling!" You got the Lorinzer 22" rims on the trailer right?

socalwakepunk 09-22-2003 9:29 PM

SCHWINGGGG!!!!!

wakeguru 09-23-2003 5:53 AM

Someone's spoiled!
Ha ha, just kidding.
Congrats - that's one supreme wake machine.

blackandblue 09-23-2003 6:05 AM

Very nice, Christie, very nice...
cfisher 09-23-2003 9:06 AM

Thanks everyone! These pics are just making me even more antsy to see it!! hahaha

Chris - I would love to hit Powell some day, but it will probably have to wait until Spring or Summer! You guys just need to take a rode trip back to the delta!!

Andre - How's your quest going for a new boat?

David - I guess I do spoil myself a little

greatdane 09-23-2003 9:15 AM

Excellent Christie! Very nice!

Malibu should give you a great deal as you are making a heck of a testimony for them with this second VLX purchase.

My experience at Shasta with my BU and my current condition (older and broken) has me thinking about another VLX. The more rampy wake of the VLX is a lot more forgiving and less harsh on the body. And, the surf wake is awesome (not sure how it compares to the SAN but I bet it is better because of prop rotation and boat width).

jeffr 09-23-2003 10:25 AM

That’s a nice looking boat! Congrats!
Bet you can’t wait for it to be done. Be sure to get the pics with the polished tower when it’s on.

One question for you on the color…. Is the black extending up beyond the rub rail something special ordered?

My wife and I are still boat shopping and we were looking at ordering a VLX with a red main with a red first accent stripe… my dealer made it sound like the color would stop at the rub rail. That’s the second pic I have seen with color going up past the rub rail. I like it that way… it sets off the ‘bling’ of the stainless better.
buffalow 09-23-2003 10:36 AM

Bling Bling Pinky Ring! I got mine first though!

cfisher 09-23-2003 10:39 AM

Jeff - yes, it is an extra option. It's called "color above the rub rail" (at least it is named appropriately, huh?). I saw a sweet red & white one that had red for the hull and the accent with while for the main. Higher maintenance with the dark hull, but it looked sweet!

I will definitely post more pics as it progresses. Hopefully, I will post pics that I take myself this weekend!!!

You won't be disappointed with the VLX...it's one hell of a nice boat! Make sure you post pics when you and your wife finally decide on the color scheme!

cfisher 09-23-2003 10:46 AM

Buff - I guess Dave likes you best

sickboy 09-23-2003 11:12 AM

Sweet ride Christie!!!

cfisher 09-23-2003 12:05 PM

Dane - Do you think Malibu will give me a "buy two VLXs, get one FREE" deal? hahahaha

Thanks, Mark...let me know when you want to ride behind it!!

wakehype 09-23-2003 1:17 PM

I love everything about me 03 VLX and wouldnt give it up for anything else. SAN wakes are like hitting brick walls ;)

wakehype 09-23-2003 1:19 PM

Oyea... AWSOME looking VLX. Nice colors

greatdane 09-23-2003 9:52 PM

BTW, Christie, your profile pic is sweet!

cfisher 09-23-2003 10:13 PM

Thanks, Dane.

Jason Payne took that shot on Sunday....the Payne's were gracious enough to take me out on their X-2 while my VLX is "in the shop"...hehe!

wakelvr 09-24-2003 8:35 AM

I still think you need to smile and wink at the camera;-)

cfisher 09-24-2003 8:41 AM

Stef - I'll work on that...haha. You know how intense I get when I'm focused!

blackandblue 09-24-2003 8:48 AM

Christie, Stef
I can photoshop the image for ya...8^)
I hope I don't get carried away and go beyond the wink and smile...could be trouble...
garyw 09-24-2003 9:39 AM

Christie, congrats. I know you will love her, cause we love ours

jrichard 09-24-2003 10:13 AM

Nice, nice boat, Christie. I can hardly wait to start mooching rides from you!

cfisher 09-25-2003 10:04 AM

Gregg - be careful with that Photoshop...I just saw the pic you touched up of Jimmy....oh my! You didn't do that to my shifty shot did you? lol!

JR - well, mooching will have to wait another week. The boat got tied up at the factory...no tower yet!

wakelvr 09-25-2003 10:32 AM

Hey Gregg... Make her smile and/or wink in the picture:-)

deepstructure 09-25-2003 10:41 AM

which skylon tower are you getting? the classic?

and lol - when looking for skylon's site i found this skylon "tower":

http://www.skylon.com/

cfisher 09-25-2003 10:52 AM

Christopher - That's it!!! Do you think we will be able to get some big air off that one??? lol

Actually, it will be the Skylon Swoop tower.

ssg 09-25-2003 12:20 PM

Christie - Very nice boat! I envy you. I have been up to the Bu dealer in Pheonix for a couple years now, but just can't make that decision to spend the cash....Don't know what's wrong with me???

Andre - Schaweeeet profile pic! That's what its all about! What did you end up getting anyway, I remember something about a Nautique? Yes?

Anyway....have fun ya'll. I'm still riding.

Ross

deepstructure 09-25-2003 2:39 PM

ya you mentioned that before - that it's the swoop tower, but when i look on their site all the towers have the swoop logo next to them and none are specifically called "swoop." which one of these is it?

http://www.skylonsports.com/towers.html

socalwakepunk 09-25-2003 2:42 PM

I'm guessing it's the swoop classic, just like the one's on the VLX's at our tournament last Saturday, Christopher!

deepstructure 09-25-2003 2:44 PM

cfisher 09-25-2003 2:51 PM

It's the Classic tower and I also ordered four two-board racks, a custom speaker box and a polished light bar!!

deepstructure 09-25-2003 2:55 PM

cool! those are nice. don't think much of their other towers.

paulsmith 09-25-2003 4:14 PM

Ross, still wringing my hands over whether to "upgrade" but probably will wait a little while. VLX, Super Air, and X2 are all in play.

Thanks re the profile pic. Dave Vincent took that for me.

norcal_99 09-26-2003 1:36 PM

Paul, If you get the VLX, not only is it a great boat, you wont have to change the sticker on your tow vehicle.

greatdane 09-28-2003 6:52 PM

Christie,

What are your plans for the ballast system?
Will you keep the solid tanks in the back?
Will you supplement them with sacks or lead?

Also, is the center ballast a solid tank these days?

Also, does the wedge help with surfing? I imagine not. But, left and right trim tabs would probably help a bunch.

cfisher 09-28-2003 7:46 PM

Dane,

It will probably take a little while to get the wake dialed in where I want it, but the current plan is to use all the hard tanks with the wedge and then supplement with a little lead.

To tell you the truth, I'm not sure about the MLS. I think he told me that they were switching to a hard tank this year. I guess I'll find out for sure next weekend!
wakehype 09-29-2003 1:53 PM

They left the ski locker bag a sac instead of going to the hardtank. Only the new LSV has the hardtank in the ski locker.

200 on each side of the engine (MLS tank)
500 in the ski locker.

wakehype 09-29-2003 1:55 PM

I like the sac, they also make one thats the same width but longer (another company, not sure) and it fills up to 800.

Some people also remove the hard tanks in the back and throw 540 sacs in place. Having the storage is nice tho.

forwaken 09-29-2003 2:06 PM

Dane,

Yes, the wedge helps with surfing!!

Christie,

I'll trade you windshields, and stereo's. with my 03'.
Very nice boat.

(Message edited by forwaken on September 29, 2003)

cfisher 09-29-2003 3:29 PM

Chad - thanks for the trade offer, but I might be kind of attached to mine once I finally take possession

Do you ever bring yours out to the Delta?

forwaken 09-29-2003 4:07 PM

Yes, quite a bit, I was just at Ladd's yesterday with Joel Cervantes and Brian (I don't know his last name but he is aka Squid.) They both said they had ridden with you before and Joel was actually gonna shoot you my e-mail about that trip you were planning this comming weekend.

hydrosport 09-29-2003 8:59 PM

What's up with all this VLX talk? I heard it's only good for messing up knees. j/k christie...
It's definitely gonna be a head turner.

Chad, Stef is planning the trip, I sent her your email.

cfisher 09-29-2003 9:18 PM

Chad - we'll have to hook up on the water one of these days.

Joel - you are just never going to let me forget that my first VLX was the cause of your knee injury, are you? Do you think you will even give this one a try? hahahaha

hockeyruss 09-30-2003 4:29 AM

Christie, you'll love it, the new Xplod sound system rocks. I added tower speakers, a 12" sub and 2 600watt amps to mine and it rocks! Bought the additional stuff off ebay (100 per amp, 50 for the sub in a box, 300 for the tower speakers), the sub was the only thing used. My boat now leaves a wake in nuetral with the sub!! Anyway, if you are doing the stereo yourself it is easy and can be very reasonable.

forwaken 09-30-2003 5:43 AM

Joel,

My bad...

Christie,

Definitely...

kimmy 10-02-2003 6:55 PM

NICE looking boat seeing it with the human eye. John and I just saw you on Hwy 4 getting off at your exit at about 6:20. Looks good behind your rig too. Congratulations!
