V215, surf machine?

How can I weight this 215 to make a nice goofy wake?
It has the hard tanks, and front bag, but how much weight will the rear lockers hold?
What are most weighting for a nice goofy wave.

wakebordr11 09-05-2013 6:57 PM

Post some pictures of the rig and we can tell you how to weight it.

cheesesteak 09-05-2013 7:00 PM

Put around 8 batteries in it and a bunch of 6x9s . . .

Just kidding. Post some pics!

cheesesteak 09-05-2013 7:11 PM

I've got a buddy with a 2008 v215 - surfs goofy. He runs the factory tanks and lead. Not sure how much - I'll ask next time I see him.

It throws a great wave on bother sides. I run 162# in batteries, 375 in lead and a 750 in the surf side locker plus the 500 in the belly.

Out of any boat with flames I would have to say that actually looks ok. Color combo makes it doable. Congrats.

rallyart 09-05-2013 7:40 PM

The 215 hull gives just as good a wake goofy or regular. Putting the list in it is important. I run about 1500# in my D215, all water, and even a klutz like me can ride

Jmorlan 09-05-2013 7:47 PM

So where would this thing rank on a level/scale of surf boats? Pretty decent?

cheesesteak 09-05-2013 7:49 PM

It's a very decent boat to surf - puts out a nice wave. At the price you apparently paid - it's a screaming deal.

shawndoggy 09-05-2013 9:08 PM

oh good grief, that's teh boat? Congrats indeed. Looks beautiful.

wakebordr11 09-05-2013 9:27 PM

Oh boy, here goes 20 questions about a 20 foot boat post template again.

Jmorlan 09-05-2013 9:29 PM

As soon as I get home, 2 pair rev10, or the wetsounds 3some in white will be on the tower.

But please if we can, can we keep this to a surf thread if possible?

Why are you such a douchebag? Someone else have too much time with your wife, and not leave you enough?

boardman74 09-05-2013 10:05 PM

Dude I think you pretty much locked up D-bag of the week maybe month. Going after someones wife because you got nothing else is pretty low.

Wise man once said...he who lives in glass house....shouldn't throw stones!!!

Has this guy had any valuable input to any thread? Or just likes to talk ****?

I didnt think so either.

rallyart 09-05-2013 11:37 PM

Bigger boats can produce bigger wakes than the V215. However you will not find many wake surfers who would not be happy to ride behind it. It gives a good clean wake on either side and can handle a ton of weight, literally. Some like a higher freeboard but most that have ridden in a Sanger will tell you that it is a dry boat. For a boat under 22' it makes a very good surf wake. (also wakeboard wake and decent slalom wake)
On top of that the V215 is a blast to just drive.

Dmac420sj 09-06-2013 7:44 AM

215 & 210 are the same size?

rallyart 09-06-2013 8:12 AM

210 is narrower, lower, and one foot shorter than the 215

Jmorlan 09-06-2013 7:20 PM

Assuming this has the stock prop, should I swap props if I plan on surfing?

wakebordr11 09-06-2013 7:30 PM

Depends how much weight you plan to run

hatepain 09-06-2013 7:33 PM

For surfing and extra weight get the Acme 653

rallyart 09-06-2013 8:39 PM

911 is what i run

hatepain 09-07-2013 6:46 AM

911 is a great prop to but when I spoke with Acme they felt the 653 was best for surfing applications. When I damaged my prop and had to have it repaired I ran my stock prop and it caused the wave to be noticeably more washy. Not saying that's the case with the 911 though. The numbers on the 653 and 911 are very similar IIRC

Dmac420sj 09-07-2013 8:16 AM

Is it me or is surfing super boring?!

rallyart 09-07-2013 12:17 PM

It's you. ;)

beleza 09-07-2013 9:42 PM

It's not you.

Gnargnar 09-07-2013 9:57 PM

Great thread potential

wakebordr11 09-12-2013 7:07 PM

Let's see some surf shots!

Jmorlan 09-12-2013 7:11 PM

None yet. Was just my girlfriend and I fiddling around making sure all is well today after work.

There will be some to come though!
The battery location and boxes may hinder a larger sack, but I believe I'll stuff the rear lockers with 750's+ stock if they will fit.

350lb. Ballast tanks in the back compartments?

Jmorlan 09-13-2013 7:42 AM

250, 350 - something like that. Whatever the wake edition/series stock ballast is
