Boat Pricing Help
Hey all, its been awhile since I was around but need some advice. I am working on getting a 99 SAN and will be selling my boat once the deal is final. I need advice on what to ask for it.
It is a 1984 SN2001. I am unsure of the hours and the meter stopped before I bought it.
I will start with the bad.
Crack Exhaust Riser - ( temp fix with waterweld, holding strong for 2 seasons.)
Teak platform is faded and needs some work.
Minor cracks in Imron paint.
Some guages do not work ( Temp, batt, PP, Depth does)
2 - no name can speakers w/ polks
mostly new interior
new floor and stringers 3 years ago
new alternator, carb, starter 4 years ago
Painted with Imron 2-3 years ago
4 6" Polks inside
2 10" JBL inside
replaced axle on trailer 4 years ago
transmission rebuilt last season - new flywheel
Probably around 4-6k. Depending on how fast you want to sell it. These boats used to be in pretty high demand, but I think the market for them has softened a bit the last couple years due to the availability of older cheaper v-drives.
Yeah I agree, It will be a fast sell so I was thinking 5k or somewhere around there. Appreciate the input.
There are 2 for sale at a local dealer. 1989 for $8900 and 87 for $5995. I can tell you both are very clean and with accessories. I can also tell you they have been for sale for over 2 years each. The market really has dried up for them. Plus its winter.
Like they say "Its worth whatever you can get someone to pay you for it." I'd say start in the range recommended and work down at a rate equal to how fast you want it sold. Remember the average buyer is going to want the add ons for free and a discount for the stuff thats broke!! Just the way it is, especially on a boat of that age.
