Just picked up my new boat!!!!

Went a little gangster on my new boat and was nervous how it was gonna turn out, but I am digging it. I guess you will either love it or hate the colors. I really have been digging Boatmate's two tone paint jobs, so I wanted to try and mix it in. I love the accent it adds to the boat. Boatmate also has so many wheel options for their trailers it makes it fun. Not like the old days of one color trailer and a steel wheel. Nice work Boatmate.

Worked with Active Water Sports in Portland and as always they were awesome to work with. I highly recommend them if you are in Portland. Was able to pull it home just before the Oregon rain hit (literally as I was backing it into the garage). I am pretty demanding and they are always johnny on the spot.

Supra really made some sweet changes this year that I am excited about too. They are stepping it up every year! I will have more to report once I get it on the water. New vinyls, new cushion configuration, toggle switches on the dash, new Indmar surf motor (bling bling), Polk Audio speakers, and a power drivers seat (up down). Still have to install my tower speakers, sub, amps, etc.... That will all be Exile. More pics once I order that stuff and install it. It looks naked w/o tower speakers! Still considering tinting the windows a bit too. Best part of it is my garage has the "new boat" smell!

I am thinking about tinting the SUPRA logo on the side. Almost black it out, but still have the raised SUPRA lettering. What are your thoughts on that?

This is the drive home..... Something was following me in the mirror

Congrats! I think it looks awesome. Can't wait to see the pics of it on the water

alanp 04-12-2012 9:24 PM

very nice!! black is just gets too hot. but that boat is siiiick

04outback 04-12-2012 9:25 PM

Nice Clark, REAL Nice

Really digg the trailer colors. Accents well wi the grey trim.

Congrats!
Just go ahead and book ole Frank for the cross country drive !

ixfe 04-12-2012 9:25 PM

Love it, Tyler! And yes, why not tint the Supra logo? But I wouldn't go completely black. If you smoke them, it might match the charcoal stripe and the two-town trailer nicely.

Is that a new steering wheel? Switches look cool. I'm not sure I can tell a difference on the vinyl, but maybe when I see it in person. The black piping is a nice touch against the gray and white. As always, the carpet looks PLUSH.

The new engine cover reminds me of the old MCX cover, only gray instead of red.

Overall, another nice 21V. I keep thinking you'll run out of different black combinations. But you keep innovating!

CobraRob 04-12-2012 9:27 PM

I call BS on you JUST getting that.. No way Oregon City was that dry and sunny right now :D

cragrat 04-12-2012 9:29 PM

AWESOME! Congrats on the new ride!

tyler97217 04-12-2012 9:30 PM

Thanks guys.
Ixfe, yeah I am thinking about more of smoking them. Not blacking them out.

Ooops one of them did not post...

Cobra
You are right. That was at about 4. Got it in the garage right before the down poor...

polarbill 04-12-2012 9:37 PM

Tyler, so sick. I absolutely love it. If there is anything I have learned in 5+ years of wakeworld is you end up with sick looking boats. Supra should pay you for helping make them look good.

tyler97217 04-12-2012 9:41 PM

Ha ha... Thanks polarbill.

Rick Tinker and Active Water Sports... You hear that??? I want my next boat free or as Brett says you should pay me!!! Wonder how that will go over on the next boat negotiation?

newty 04-12-2012 10:07 PM

Daaaym Tyler, you one upped yourself again. Charcoal plastidip the logo = pimp factor!!!

Beautiful boat brutha, congrats.

polarbill 04-12-2012 10:13 PM

I am sure Greg doesn't mind giving you a new supra. Haha. You are going to hav eto be on 24 hour call though and there go to demo driver.

migs 04-12-2012 10:14 PM

WAAAAAW - clowning dude!!
So tough

bzubke1 04-12-2012 10:22 PM

Who did you work with to find out your options of trailer wheels? I asked my dealer and called skiers choice, both told me my only option was the wheels that you see on the worlds edition trailers. The boat and trailer look absolutely money btw.

04-12-2012 10:32 PM

Congrats! That is a mean looking 21V :D

brianinpdx 04-12-2012 10:33 PM

Tyler - Tower looks Nakid! Better come by the Exile offices. I bet Brandon thinks your his brother now, all blacked out. Thats one killer Supra!

-Brian

Shows my main issue with Supra. The boat looks great but I HATE that raised area in the walk though. I want it to be level all the way to the bow.

tyler97217 04-12-2012 11:17 PM

You can get it as a walk through. I order mine with a playpen. I love the ability to hide a bunch of weight and still have storage. You pick how you want it. Just my preference.

Really? I have never seen a Supra without the step up. I have seen them without the cushions but they still had that rounded stepup

dhill 04-12-2012 11:43 PM

that boat is fricking great....my time on a buddy's supra tells me the wake on that damn boat wll be killer. congrats! now for the standard request, please post some wake pics! again, congrats, awesome boat.

chrisbucklin 04-13-2012 2:19 AM

cobra, the lauch has the "playpen",if u get the sunsport thats the walk through..i think thats the only differanxce in the two. ive done a lot of research on these boats as im in the prosess of ordering a lauch 242 worlds...have u ever sat up front with ur legs in the isle??no u always out ur feet up. so y not have it. and for the most part the kids go upo front in my boat anyways..wel i love the boat and congrats!! lovein it:) will have pics some time of mine on here too.

ripr 04-13-2012 3:09 AM

Looks KILLER bro! Lovin that color scheme!

I've been thinking of doing something with my raised chrome letters too. I saw it on the Mapple icon edition nautique and have been thinking about since. Great minds think alike!

Cobra-
launch = playpen , sunsport = walk thru . Here's the year/model but sunsport (with a bow filler cushion in place) I've always had launch's too.

cyclone18 04-13-2012 3:33 AM

man thats so sick! whats everyones thoughts on the air craft style toggle switches? im not sure which ones i like better yet!

CobraRob 04-13-2012 4:50 AM

Gotcha.. Learned something today!

However, I think if I ever got out of the Mastercraft family and the X-45 I would probably get the 24' Tige

ripr 04-13-2012 4:52 AM

Tyler- Did your dealer do the heater install? I see your outlets are in the main compartment, and mine are up in the walk thru. I think I want mine where yours are! lol

I could take or leave the aircraft style switches. But, having looked at the regular toggles since my first Supra in 2004, I'm glad to see something different. Positioning and functionality are definetly there.

brett33 04-13-2012 5:33 AM

dirty sir, congrats!

Houstonshark 04-13-2012 5:38 AM

Man, that is a great looking boat! I've always thought Supra builds such a streamlined and classy boat. I don't understand all the switches, separate radio controller and clutter in the dash though. Shouldn't the LCD monitor take the place of a lot of that stuff?

wakereviews 04-13-2012 6:01 AM

Tyler knocks it out of the park again. That boat is ridiculous!!!

ripr 04-13-2012 6:09 AM

The VISION system requires the key to be in the 'run' position. The secondary switches can be used while the boat is off to run your stereo, lights, etc. I spend alot of time just hanging out on my boat in a cove, or at a dock, or just in the middle of the lake and use those switches alot. I've never checked, but I think when your boat is in the 'run' position, the hour meter is ticking away. Also, if the VISION system ever fails, there's a secondary set of controls for your essential functions.

Sorry to keep jacking your thread, Tyler. I started drinking coffee WAY too early this morning.

tyler97217 04-13-2012 6:24 AM

Brandon - you would have to talk to your local dealer. I am sure if you want to step up and pay to go to a different wheel they can talk to Boatmate. Not the norm, but I am sure the option is there, if you are willing to pay extra.
NAW - that is the factory position for the heater and has been on my last boat as well. Not sure if it changes because of the playpen versus the walkthrough. The heater core is actually mounted in the large cubby behind and above the batteries. BTW you are not jacking my thread. I actually need your help to answer some of those questions and I agree with what you said. Keep it coming.

sippi 04-13-2012 6:41 AM

that thing is sickkkk!!! IMO it looks better with the playpen, i also love the fact that you can stick all kinds of weight in it and its hidden. To me its not a "supra" without that playpen! looks a bit naked without it! If you're going to "smoke" your supra logo definitely do the launch 21v too. don't forget that. I think that would look sweet! awesome looking boat, you're making me want to get one for my next boat for sure!

saberworks 04-13-2012 7:18 AM

Sweet. That's still my favorite tower ever.

FunkyBunch 04-13-2012 7:30 AM

Are those tie downs for your Z5? Is that something you came up with or did that come with the boat now? Either way looks like a great idea I have heard about some of the Z5's coming lose while going down the highway.

scotthons 04-13-2012 7:34 AM

Wow. That has got to be one of the sexiest things I have seen in a long time. Congrats man!

wakeboardin 04-13-2012 7:37 AM

That boat is wicked congratulations and my vote is black chrome on the logos

Txjole 04-13-2012 7:38 AM

Very nice set-up

downfortheride 04-13-2012 7:39 AM

Great work as usual Diggs! The options on the trailers are awesome and the what you picked matches perfectly. Supra has sure stepped up, congrats!

tyler97217 04-13-2012 8:02 AM

Mark
Those straps are for transport. I meant to pull them off for the pics, but I forgot. The dealer left them on for transport. I actually have already taken them off and use them for long transport. I have traveled from Oregon to So Cal with a Z5 and never had an issue, but for a long trip like that it is probably a good idea to use the straps.

jeff_mn 04-13-2012 8:21 AM

I'm unsure if I could like that any more than I do..

A+ as usual..

FunkyBunch 04-13-2012 8:24 AM

Thanks I love the idea of those straps I may have to grab some from HD for some of my longer trips. I have never had any issues with mine either, however Jarrod that is on this board some has. He had the Z5 that had the compression fittings at the ends that connected to the tower. The fittings failed and off came the Z5.

Great boat love the new interiors.

shane97210 04-13-2012 9:00 AM

This might be my favorite boat of yours yet! Looks good guy! I really like the steering wheel and toggle switches. Weather is looking decent tomorrow, maiden voyage?

tyler97217 04-13-2012 9:04 AM

Sunday Sunday Sunday.... I am thinking. Maybe tomorrow if it is real nice, but Sunday is looking better.

hatepain 04-13-2012 9:13 AM

So flossy as always but this time the trailer has been taken up a notch! I've loved everyone of your boats. I remember pining over your blacked out 06 on CL when I was searching for a boat in 07. Great choices my man.

Like Brian said, get that over to Exile ;)

bushtree 04-13-2012 9:22 AM

Looks good! My only thought is you should have went with the XD Rockstars on the trailer to match the truck!

But overall looks sick! Get it on the lake, and take some on the water pictures! I bet it will pop against blue water.

tonyv420 04-13-2012 9:24 AM

O.G!!!

tyler97217 04-13-2012 9:37 AM

Nick
Blue water???? What is that? We have brown water here... ha ha Hope it pops well with brown water!

simplej 04-13-2012 9:38 AM

My god. Holy sick boat batman!

adam_balon 04-13-2012 10:58 AM

REAL SICK MAN!

great minds think alike...... i have a grey dodge 2500 and my blacked/greyed out malibu 23lsv just arrived!! ill post some pics real soon.

dope boat. youll love the wake. had a 22ssv prior to the malibu.

shagman 04-13-2012 12:34 PM

I guess I could be talked into riding behind it... Looks good guy!

bruizza 04-13-2012 12:59 PM

Awesome looking boat!

Bamabonners 04-13-2012 10:12 PM

Love the boat, but not the colors. Too bland for me, but I do like the boat.

dhill 04-13-2012 10:37 PM

^^ come on, he just picked up a great boat. no need for negative comments. if you like the boat say it, if you don't prefer the colors (a preference), let it go, order a different color scheme when you order one.

i know the excited feeling of picking up the boat and towing it home....just love looking in the rear view mirror(s) and seeing it.Attachment 21401

fman 04-14-2012 4:27 PM

Sick boat Tyler, great color combo with your tow vehicle. But then again, all of your boats are beautiful! I really like the new stainless toggle switches SC is using, so much better than the old plastic style. Jealous of your adjustable seat!

I would love to see SC make the 22SSV look just like the 21V, its by far IMO there best looking boat they have. The 22 is in need of a complete hull and deck re-design!

Have fun out there! hope you are in the 100 hour club at the end of the season!

delmage171 04-14-2012 5:34 PM

Awesome boat! looks sick gangster'd out!

cwb4me 04-14-2012 6:41 PM

Nice looking boat! Congrats on your decision to go with black.

slowwwflowww 04-15-2012 5:27 AM

Sick Supra !! Well done with colors!! I've always loved the profile and overall look of Supras.Time to shred the butter,oh yeah!!!Congrats!

Got the boat on the water and got the stereo installed over the weeekend. The new Indmar surf motor sounds awesome. Very throaty. The Exile system is pounding. Just a few minutes of tuning and it is gonna be ready. Supposed to be 80 today so will be playing hookie here in a few hours.

chattwake 05-07-2012 8:46 AM

Wow! Looks really good man. I love your interior choices.

If you don't mind me asking, what on earth are you walking across in the third picture up? Looks treacherous as hell. Round, slick, burning hot black logs loosely tied together? I'd say, when six beers deep, you've got a 50/50 chance of breaking a leg before making it to your boat!

ripr 05-07-2012 8:59 AM

Haha..that's what I was wondering. After a day of boating I'd never make it across those!

Boat looks sick Tyler. Believe it or not, I have zero hours on mine. Too much working, not enough boating.

501s 05-07-2012 9:00 AM

Sinister Supra! I love it. Honestly though Im just jealous that your day is starting out skipping work and hitting the lake in a new boat and we still have ice!

tyler97217 05-07-2012 9:00 AM

Ha ha.... That is a buddy of mine. water levels are real high right now and our beach is covered up so we hang out occasionally on some old dredging pipes. They are all tied together and make a decent place for a bunch of boats to tie up and hang out. Yes it is treacherous and that is half the fun of hanging out there and watching people fall in to 54 degree water.

jcfox00 05-07-2012 9:20 AM

There is a wakeboard video out there of pros sliding those pipes. pretty intense crashes in that with one guy falling in between those pipes face first with his board on and slipped out underneath it. Someone will probably post the video part of that.

tyler97217 05-07-2012 9:41 AM

Yeah I have seen that video and there were also some still shots of them riding on it as well. This area is now a "no wake" zone so we can't ride back here anyway. Just hang out.

ixfe 05-07-2012 10:29 AM

I'm jealous too. I could not break free today, so I'm sitting in my office in Hillsboro, dreaming about that flat water. I did get the boat over to Exile though...

Have fun today! Boat looks GREAT!

04outback 05-08-2012 5:33 AM

Tyler
Looks great but you gotta get some better shots. The iPhone finger in one of the shots is great. Haha
Mines hitting the water this weekend....some how!

unclesam 05-08-2012 10:39 AM

All that work to get those photos and that's what the end product is? I think Johnny needs to give you some iPhone lessons.

Excellent boat, but how about the COOLER CUSHION! That thing needs a recall this season.

jonblarc7 05-08-2012 10:57 AM

Diggs how do you like the surf speakers at a wakeboard distance?

I think the new boat is sick.

tyler97217 05-08-2012 12:23 PM

Blair
We have not wakeboarded yet this year, but had them last year. You can still hear them for sure. They are not like having horns, but you can definitely still hear the music and it sounds good.

I used to dredge, the ole plastic pipes.

CobraRob 05-09-2012 8:08 PM

I am still stuck in Singapore for another month. Kinda glad to see it's still empty there though and I am not really missing out yet :D

markj 05-09-2012 10:47 PM

Wait. Is that your brand new boat sitting next to those pipes with no bumpers to protect it?

tyler97217 05-10-2012 7:16 AM

Markj
It was just for the pics. That is why you see the guy running over cause it was starting to get close to the pipes. It never touched the pipes. ha ha

CobraRob
It got a little nutty on Monday. It is supposed to be in the 80's all weekend and into next week, so I would imagine this will be the weekend to get it all started....
