Post bad set blues....what cheers you up?

so on monday i had a horrible couple of sets where i just wasnt landing anything! I usually have a few tricks that as long as i land them at some point during my riding then no matter what i feel good or at least fine with my riding.

What are things you do to get out the post bad set funk?

i ate some really horrible greasy food......it didnt quite do the trick but felt good at the time.

Go find a Turtle that is trying to cross the road somewhere and ferry it safely to the other side.

Listen to some chill music on the way home and think about how blessed I am to have the ability to ride everyday... Problem solved.

Jumping an 80 footer on the motocross track

Teach someone new how to wakeboard and watch for that sparkle in their eye once they get it. Plus once they get up and are standing knees bent, arms bent, hunched over, not knowing how to control the board it will make you appreciate not only how lucky you are to be able to just get up and ride, but also how far you've progressed.

Take my board off - do a cannon ball into the water - swim out a bit and look at how sick my boat is sittin in the water.

Maddog10 07-14-2010 2:42 PM

Good call J-Rod... Everytime something is bothering me I load up the 450 and hit the track.

kko13 07-14-2010 6:22 PM

joeshmoe 07-15-2010 7:20 AM

a bad day wakeboarding is better than a good day at work

landowakettu 07-15-2010 8:52 AM

Sing "I Feel Pretty" from Westside story, like Adam Sandler does in Anger Management

guido 07-15-2010 10:31 AM

ha, ha, ha.... nice guys.

For some reason my worst riding leads to my best. When I'm having bad set after bad set it usually means that I'm about to step it up when I come back around. Wakeboarding's in your head. Chill, have a good time and think about all the poor bastards that don't get to roll around on boats.

Try watching some crash vids. Makes you realize you're not the only one not landing stuff. Plus it's a cheap laugh.

jsw 07-17-2010 8:14 PM

i feel you on this. this past three days out have been real sh**ty for me as well. i guess i've lost a 3 that had locked and am getting close on a front and a tantrum but jus can't seem to stick either. it's gettin me down too. hopefully i'll get that one set that'll get everything goin again.

king_of_the_wake 07-17-2010 8:26 PM

look, the only way your going to fully get over this is not through beer or prostitues, no if you truly want to fix you have to go out there and try the same tricks again and again untill you land them, that is the only way to get over it.

nicvtx1994 07-18-2010 5:00 AM

how often do you guys ride??? sometimes i have a really bad set when i ride to much. i generally go out on tuesday arvo's as well as saturdays, i find if i ride only once a week i generally ride better.

greenbass86 07-18-2010 6:26 AM

I'm still a newb and can't do to much on the board yet, so I haven't had one of those days, but back when I linlined and had a bad day I would just watch one of my older skate videos of me hitting the tricks, and then I would remember today I was just off, but i can still hit that sh*t and all would be fine

I take the tricks I know I can land and grab and poke them better. At least I'm making my riding look better how I want it to look.

This thread is pretty damn funny... I would agree with all of the suggestions. Ride a whole set switch and it will make you feel a lot better about your regular riding.
