New 2010 RZ2
So, we were hoping to have it ready by the 4th, but either way we are stoked. I originally came up with some colors and then Danny from Tige asked me if he could just design something sick with a WHITE tower. That sounded intriguing. I said, just make sure you use Navy. I am always up for an adventure, so I said ok. He's hispanic, we should be simpatico, right? ;-)

OK, I am REALLY interested to see how this tower is going to look. Has anyone seen a white alpha z tower in the wild?

ilikebeaverandboats 06-29-2010 12:41 PM

I think the only alpha z tower i have seen that wasnt black, was the silver one on their anniversary boat! thats gonna look dope!! Im not a huge fan of white on boats, but thatll look killer.

cwb4me 06-29-2010 12:45 PM

NO but i like your colors. i have a 07 22 ve blue and white and silver w/ charcoal hull. i'm a COWBOYS FAN from virginia. i don't know if you are but thats okay the tige is sweet! can't wait to see it with the tower. i get compliments on my boat all the time until i tell them i'm a cowboys fan. i live in skins territory. LOL

ragboy 06-29-2010 1:12 PM

No, I just like the Tige Navy blue, my current boat uses that color. Plus the wake9 logo will go well with it. That navy looks blue sometimes, and black others. Here are some good pics of my boat:

timmyb 06-29-2010 2:36 PM

I like the blue bottom, that is going to look sharp! Are you doing the RZ2 graphics or just wake9.com graphics? Why a '10 and not an '11?

cwb4me 06-29-2010 2:44 PM

LOOKS GOOD! can't wait to see the new one all done.i love that navy blue color.

ragboy 07-01-2010 10:10 AM

Some more just sent to me:

mc_x15 07-01-2010 11:11 AM

oh that thing is gonna be sick!!!

ragboy 07-01-2010 12:49 PM

I know, I am definitely getting antsy.

beryessaboarder 07-01-2010 2:47 PM

Very nice! Congrats on the new ride!

ragboy 07-01-2010 4:09 PM

Those shots of the boat upside down really give you a clean look at the non planing convex v hull. Pretty cool looking.

ragboy 07-01-2010 4:54 PM

I got some more, I am totally loving watching the birth of our RZ2. And that navy looks so sick, sometimes black, sometimes blue.

ajholt7 07-01-2010 5:26 PM

Loving it!

ragboy 07-02-2010 10:44 AM

OK, guys I may need rehab or an intervention after this. I am getting so addicted to finding these cool pics in my inbox every day, that I am afraid I am not going to know what to do when it is done. I mean, I can't order a new boat, and keep my current wife. Decisions, Decisions. ;-)

mattgettel 07-02-2010 10:51 AM

that is quite the tough decision.

ragboy 07-02-2010 3:24 PM

Can't believe it, this is better than crack. (not that I would know ;-) )

TAPS is in, check out the PAIR of underwated LED lights, my 24Ve only had one.

Looks like its got some attitude.

OK, now these next 2 pictures... I mean my 2 favorites things on the water is the great surf wake, and a clear, thumpin' stereo...

duffymahoney 07-02-2010 4:31 PM

Is the factory installing the fat sacs?

bac 07-02-2010 6:39 PM

Lookin good!

That Navy Blue and White looks nice. Should be killer with a white tower and even better once yall get the Wake9 graphics on

ragboy 07-02-2010 6:52 PM

That is the factory Tige "pro" ballet system, nothing custom.

ilikebeaverandboats 07-02-2010 8:30 PM

Think you could get them to sneak some more weight in there? might as well...

ragboy 07-03-2010 12:58 AM

Yeah, we are planning to replace the factory locker sacs with 1000 lb +sacs on each side, but made to plumb into the system so they replace these, which means nothing more than swapping sacs. The Tige Touch system for filling and emptying ballast is timer based, so I can put the new sacs in, and just adjust the timers so it should work just like factory. The tige ballast system is an amazing platform to start from.

ragboy 07-06-2010 8:39 AM

Looks like the guys at the tige factory are back to work, hope they are well rested! Looks like the engine and dash are in...

alans 07-06-2010 9:11 AM

You are going to love that motor. It is my favorite from PCM to date.

ragboy 07-06-2010 9:18 AM

I am really interested to see the difference with CO emissions. I took measurements with my 24Ve, with no cat. And I rode on the 2010 RZ2s, that were not california boats, and based on smell, they seemed about the same as my Ve. So this should be interesting to see if it makes a difference.

ctimrun 07-06-2010 10:37 AM

Looks great! Can't wait to see the results of your emissions test on this engine, we've got the same engine. Your going to love it!

ragboy 07-06-2010 7:03 PM

The boat is really starting to take shape, this one looks the same, but the batteries are in.

gwnkids 07-06-2010 10:06 PM

Alans - Whats with the single exahust?
Do all PCM send the exahust forward?
What the HP?

ragboy 07-07-2010 7:27 AM

Got some more this AM, interior coming in...

ragboy 07-07-2010 9:28 AM

Correction, this is the 343 motor with the California cat converter. So I will get to test the 343 thoroughly as a surfer.

mdaijogo 07-07-2010 10:57 AM

I have this motor in my F21. We have been surfing 2x. Didn't "smell" anything. But I digress, I am but a n00b surfer. I'll let the pros give more info on this.

ragboy 07-07-2010 4:02 PM

Man I wish they were still built in cali, so I could drive and get it.

mdaijogo 07-07-2010 4:38 PM

How much longer before you get it?

ragboy 07-07-2010 4:50 PM

It should be coming to me next week.

dennish 07-07-2010 6:21 PM

Road trip

ragboy 07-07-2010 6:30 PM

LOL, and I know u would be up for it.

dennish 07-07-2010 6:31 PM

We could hit a couple of lakes on the way back

surffresh 07-08-2010 5:18 AM

Great stuff, I'm in the same boat, my Supreme V226 is being built now. I will have some pics but I am not getting the feeling that they will have a full time photo employee sending me pics like Tige did for you,HaHa, it's all good ! Can't wait either !!!

alans 07-08-2010 6:02 AM

No sure about the CO emissions, but I just really like the motor. I have been a PCM fan for a long time, had the GT-40's in my Nautiques and then the 330 Excalibur. When they switched to the 343 Excalibur a couple of years ago, I did not notice any difference, but I do notice difference in power and fuel consumption with the 343 CAT. I am also a big fan of the single exhaust, it sounds great when on plane and is super quiet in the water.

ragboy 07-08-2010 9:34 AM

@drew Yeah, I know tige has done this with others, I have seen them, but not this many. I am not arguing though, I never thought it would be this fun, but I am THOROUGHLY enjoying the pics.

@Alan I don't know what difference it makes, but everything I have read says that a CAT will reduce CO, just don't know how much.

OK, I think the tower and graphics are getting REALLY close...

ragboy 07-08-2010 9:35 AM

@drew make sure you post the pics of your V226, would love to see it, and the wake pics.

ragboy 07-08-2010 2:10 PM

Woo hoo, one more in my box today.

surffresh 07-08-2010 3:26 PM

ragboy saying." and for the love of god and waves...please take that tape off of the logo....I can almost touch it and don't forget to send me a pic when ya do...thanks....Ragboy"

ragboy 07-08-2010 4:11 PM

y, I am getting antzy, there is no question. I love my 24Ve, I just hit 500 hours on it this sunday, it runs perfect and never an issue, only reg maint. But I can't wait to jump into this sucker.

ragboy 07-09-2010 9:21 AM

Its almost done, looks like it needs a tower, and a few interior pieces. I love the navy accents on the interior.

alans 07-09-2010 9:34 AM

Ragboy, as a Tige owner, what is your take on the carpeted corners in the rear seating? Does it drive you crazy, I think I would hate it since that is where most people sit, but I have never owned a Tige. I have been stepping on seat cushions, barefoot, for 30 years and have never had a problem.

dingleberry 07-09-2010 9:46 AM

Alan - they are small cushions with one side carpeted and one side vinyl. So, you can have the carpet side up to use as a step, or flip the vinyl side up to use as a seat. That is why they have that little vinyl strap on them. Personally, I love the feature on ours.

ragboy 07-09-2010 9:55 AM

Yes, its a great feature. You flip it over, and its vinyl, just like everywhere else. When people go to walk in your boat, and have sandals or shoes on, you flip it to the carpet and hard side, they step on that and not on your vinyl. We use it all the time.

mdaijogo 07-09-2010 10:16 AM

Does the boat offer a Wetsounds speaker package? What kind of amps are you going to have installed? Does looks very nice.

alans 07-09-2010 11:19 AM

Gotcha, I forgot that they flipped over. That is a cool feature.

ragboy 07-09-2010 11:19 AM

This boat is equipped with the Tower of Power option, and Pro-80 option. You can find out more here:

1700 watt system. I have heard this system, it rocks. First time I have ever used a factory system, I normally go to my local shop and customize myself. This system is incredible.

surffresh 07-09-2010 1:14 PM

Please play us some John Denver! We want to hear it !

bigshow 07-09-2010 8:04 PM

I think you should think about upgrading your trailer:)

ragboy 07-10-2010 12:33 AM

@show you gotta save money somewhere. ;-)

ragboy 07-12-2010 2:56 PM

Got 3 more today, still waiting for the tower, I REALLY want to see that. Can't wait.

alans 07-13-2010 7:48 AM

If it was my boat, I would definitly consider keeping it clean with just the chrome Tige logo and ditch the stickers. Especially with a white tower, it would be super clean.

ragboy 07-13-2010 10:56 AM

I am DYING to see the tower...

timmyb 07-13-2010 12:07 PM

Me too!:)

ragboy 07-13-2010 3:02 PM

ok, here they are, a bit blurry, but man it looks amazing...

hawaj 07-13-2010 7:57 PM

Great thread ragboy, thanx for pics! Interesting.

Only wish boat manufacturers starts to put Audi V8 turbodiesel engines in boats. Its insane to pay more and more for gas with still rising prices nowadays, especialy here in Europe!!! Turbodiesels consume nearly half as regular gasoline engines and have amazing torque power at less rpm what is better for wakesurfing, when gasoline engines dont work at ideal rpm and probably combustion process is also not ideal and therefore its not good for lifetime for engine itself. Only what worry me is quality of exhaust emission.

ragboy 07-13-2010 10:40 PM

I have heard of boat manufs. starting to experiment with that, and I am a big Audi fan, no doubt about that.

ilikebeaverandboats 07-13-2010 10:55 PM

Yea, tonight on how its made they made the audi V6 TDI haha.

With a diesel you wouldnt need to worry about the blower either....No fumes in diesel, heck you can throw a match on diesel and it wont ignite. So a spark wouldnt set it off....

So lets start putting Inline 6 cummins in these monsters.

BTW, those finished pictures gave me the chills and goose bumps!! That white tower is B-E-A-utiful

colombiansurfer 07-14-2010 3:36 PM

I have a Centurion and I must say that this boat has my attention. I will check out Tige at the next boat show.

cwb4me 07-14-2010 3:52 PM

THAT IS ONE SHARP LOOKING BOAT! congrats ragboy you did it right. you'll forget what it cost after about the one thousanth comment you get,but you'll still be beaming with pride. QUALITY IS TRUELY PRICELESS!

hawaj 07-14-2010 6:38 PM

Heh I just found out that Epic is making all electric boat with 10 hours of riding, ... but I think I never want to hear it`s tag price :D

but its sweet

surffresh 07-14-2010 7:27 PM

yep, bout 130k, driving around the lake on an extension cord is not my idea of fun...lol

bigshow 07-14-2010 7:49 PM

An inline 6 will consume a lot of cabin space.

hawaj 07-15-2010 3:56 AM

not sure bout other diesels but VW TDI (Audi) and BMW are the real beasts, quiet, modern and powerful

I think an old cummins would be perdect, tons of torque, lots of power, and they arent that big. I know you can fit them in old scouts and broncos, should fit fine...

ragboy 07-19-2010 10:35 AM

Well, I thought I had gotten the last images, but I was WRONG. I got this gift in my inbox this AM. Dude, I can't wait.

ragboy 07-19-2010 10:46 AM

This is the part that has me feeling my shorts get tight (sorry) ...

You can clearly see that the outside speakers are PRO 80s, and the inside are PRO 60s. The boat we demo'd, the red one from the festival had 4 PRO 60s, and the beige one had 2 PRO 80s. I can't WAIT to hear this sucker.

duffymahoney 07-19-2010 10:50 AM

Wow, so freaking sick! I am super jealous

texasmoombav 07-19-2010 10:50 AM

WOW! That is one nice boat there.

lakesurfer 07-19-2010 10:55 AM

great looking ride. Congrats!

jacobs0222i 07-19-2010 3:48 PM

so you did get the Vision Air chair. Sweet

wakeandsnow27 07-19-2010 4:14 PM

thats rediculous...looks killer. I didnt know Tige would factory install wetsounds. Very cool- congrats!

bac 07-19-2010 5:07 PM

Thats gotta be one of the sharpest looking boats I've seen in a while!

colombiansurfer 07-21-2010 12:26 PM

Anymore pics?

ragboy 07-21-2010 11:58 PM

nope, not until I get it home, hopefully soon.

ragboy 08-03-2010 1:26 PM

Some pics of her on the water at the NW Open.

It was definitely in the minority, but wasn't bothered, looked sick.

Possibly new profile pic for the Towanza facebook site? ;-)

I love these next 2 pics. The inland boat, with the all black and white logo, is VERY sexy, nice looking boat. Kinda cool both in the shot, in harmony, cuz its all about the surfing right?

jonnymatrix5 08-03-2010 2:46 PM

That thing is clean! The white tower with that looks pretty sick!

All times are GMT -7. The time now is 2:38 PM.
