man that garage is awesome... gets me all worked up...

hockeysk8er222 04-09-2010 6:44 PM

That garage is not even fair...

02redws6ta 04-09-2010 7:53 PM

30x40 with 9' doors that are about 5" to short to clear a tower  . If you build, do atleast 12' walls.

Yea i am still debating doing a 3 car extended attached garage, or doing a addition detached for boat and toys

...and yes, it barely fits with the tower down.

Make sure you go at least 10' on the door height. Mine are 11'

cocheese 04-12-2010 11:26 AM

That dog is huge! Makes everything else looks like small toys!!!

liquiddiet 04-13-2010 6:18 AM

Aaron how deep is your garage?

aarond0083 04-13-2010 6:32 AM

Ryan, it is 30' x 30'.

petrey10 04-13-2010 8:29 AM

i sure hope you don't own all those boats John... if you do I might cry

Nothing like some of these but it works... Exterior trim not completed in this pic. Still needs paint, insulation, electric, etc...

20 x 28... Still have 2 or 3 feet on either end of the swim step and front of trailer without swinging the tongue.

04-14-2010 9:32 AM

I store my boat in a friend's shingle warehouse durring the winter months. It stays a nice and toasty 65 ALL Winter!!

Here is my winter "Garage" It is heated and insulated and the boat gets to hang out with my other toys.

boomboom 04-16-2010 9:11 AM

Damn Dave, you are officially my least favorite person on WW now!!!

J/k, that's a pretty incredible setup. I have a friend who has 2 hangars on his property for his planes and the punk won't let me store my boat in either one of them. Bastard. lol

04-16-2010 9:13 AM

Must be nice dave, must be nice :)

petrey10 04-16-2010 9:32 AM

great thread idea too... I too am looking for ideas on home plans

diamonddad 04-16-2010 9:46 AM

Wow! This is a fun thread. So much ENVY in my eyes.

No, Danes aren't that heavy. Duke is just under 160 lbs.

ColoRadDude 04-16-2010 4:23 PM

Yeah, I've got a full grown male dane that is only 115lbs. I don't have a garage though. My boat sits on a lift year round.

My Garage

2006maliblue 04-17-2010 6:49 PM

I like most of the people viewing this thread am extremly jealous!

My garage is not as fancy and I don't have enough room. I can barely find a spot to put my boat! Life really sucks!

http://dfwdriveyourdream.com/blog/wp...ub-paddock.jpg

Heck I even have to leave a few cars out front in the rain! I really wish I could afford a bigger place!

http://dfweliteautorental.com/blog/w...hini_small.jpg

LOL Wouldn't it be nice! Well now that I've woken up from my dream like state I guess I'll go out front and see if the tarps still covering my boat in the side yard! Might have to run to Wal-Mart and Buy another one for $10 if I have any room left on my credit card! lol

93rx7 04-17-2010 8:28 PM

im in the "my boat doesnt fit in my garage crew"

and the boat is really not looking so hot right now :(

Ok Dave, that's it! I'm storing my boat at your place this winter! What's it going to cost me? A few dinners at Maddox?? :)

Here are some pictures of the house be built last summer. We had to have a boat garage and we love having the boat at home with us...

ixfe 04-19-2010 11:03 PM

^^^ Now that's what I'm talking about, Kenny! That is LEGIT!

You should add board racks, a place to hang vests and wetsuits, and a BIG ice machine... you know the kind I'm talking about: the ones you see at motels with a large opening and big scooper inside.

http://salestores.com/stores/images/...47/SD0302A.jpg

04-20-2010 6:51 AM

That is a KICK ASS place. I wish I would have thought of that when I built my place 3 years ago. We have 3 stalls and I didn't even think to make one bigger like that. Very smart !

stang_killa_ss 04-20-2010 7:26 AM

my fancy garage...
got tired of the tickets from having it parked in the front side yard. so just cut down the fence and made it a big gate. park it in the back yard now.
only pic i have, from our rare snow storm in texas.

That would not hurt!!! We are just getting it finished, and have a list of others that want to come in, but we can chat.

stuey 04-20-2010 9:55 AM

That ice machine would be so ideal... I need to buy at least a deep freeze and fill it with bags of ice for the summer.

liquiddiet 04-20-2010 10:51 AM

Wow Kenny!!! those are the kind of ideas i'm looking for

andrew_moreton 04-20-2010 12:44 PM

What size garage door is that on the house Kenny? It looks like there is plenty of room to spare for the X-Star.

Wow, there are some nice set ups on here!

Mine is pretty modest, 22'x 28', but it works.

... and, only 25 feet to the water :D

boardcrazy 04-21-2010 3:49 AM

Thanks for all the compliments, we love our house. The garage door is 10' X 12'. 10' high was cutting it too close and I didn't want to worry about making modifications after the house was done. If I remember correctly, the boat garage is 14' X 30'.

wakecumberland 04-21-2010 6:25 AM

Aaron, your garage is perfect and I will probably do something very similar in the next couple years.

Has anyone put in radiant floor heat in a garage? What is the additional cost to do that? I would love to not have to winterize and take the boat out a few times during the winter!

chris4x4gill2 04-21-2010 9:39 AM

I need to get a pick of ours next time I'm down. We have a 30 x 60 building on concrete slab. Cinder block construction with metal roof. Right now it holds 3 boats a jet ski and a truck with plenty of room leftover.

You guys are going to get my computer taken away... She thinks keeping the boat in storage is good enough... Women.. ARRG

Lots of very nice set ups. I have only been able to pour the pad for mine (23 yards of concrete) but haven't built anything yet. For now I just claim the 15000 square feet at work. Here are some pics.

It is nice to find a thread where I can hate each person equally. I was in Coronado this weekend and this guy who had a house on the water had an entire boat ramp system under his yard. He hit a button and the lawn lifted and the retainwall moved out of the way and the ramp automatically went out to the water (you couldn't see any ramp before it started) so the boat could be taken out automatically from the garage. I didn't have my camera, but it was insane.

He also had a turnstile parking garage under his house. Pretty much hated everything about him.

ixfe 04-27-2010 3:52 PM

Twitch... I am speachless! There are a lot of toys in and around that garage. And I don't even see a boat!

It looks like you have outgrown your sweet pad. You need a subterranean grarage!

themxercr85 04-27-2010 8:32 PM

hahaha thanks DBC, I agree on the subterranean garage idea thatd be sick!

did ayone catch the Flight 69 board on the wall? that's my favorite all time board

duramat 04-28-2010 5:44 PM

Twitch I think I hate you, yep, there's no question about it, I hate you. Someday I'll be cool like you, until then I'm jealous as he!!. Nice, set up bro!

As much as you hate that guy, you have to go back and get a video or some pictures of that setup. After that, you can punch him in the gut and leave.

themxercr85 04-28-2010 10:54 PM

Agreed that sounds nutz

leveraged 04-29-2010 10:26 PM

holy shiz,
What do you big punters do for coin to get places like this? and i thought becoming an engineer would pay nicely wtf do i have to do to get the money for those places?

SkySki 05-03-2010 5:48 AM

I don't know what they do either, but my guess is something to do with banks. Like robbing them.

05-03-2010 2:58 PM

themxercr85 05-05-2010 3:50 PM

05-05-2010 6:34 PM

lol sorry Twitch, love ya. Hey your pimp the EPIC so nothing but love for you. Hope you roll like Pop's when you get older.

themxercr85 05-05-2010 7:32 PM

Why you gotta cramp my style man no one knew it wasn't mine! haha. Me too though I'm gonna have to work my a$$ off in college to live up to him haha

05-05-2010 8:17 PM

Well, I will say it like this brother. Do the work from 18-35 then you can relax and play. I own an insurance company, I am 35 with 4 kids and all I do now is check the office each day, play golf, surf, wakeboard and do stuff with my kids. But, I put the work in the last ten years to get here. Work hard then play harder!! Your Dad would agree I am sure since he is very successful as it looks.
