Yeah somehow I got an email about this. Guess they forgot that I have a nautique!!!

The biggest issue I have heard is that the buyer may not be guaranteed to be the Malibu dealer.

Is he selling the service, the pro-shop and the dealership separate? Thats what it sounds like from his letter. If that is the case it doesn't make a whole lot of sense to buy unless you would be able to afford all 3 offerings which you would need to be successful. I wonder what the cost of the whole thing would be??? <BR> <BR>"I have listed the Bake’s Dealership for sale along with service, Bake’s Board &amp; Ski, Bake’s Online and the Bake’s Canvas manufacturing shop." <BR> <BR>(Message edited by gregg_rossi on January 07, 2010)

I think you would be buying all aspects of the business together. That is the only way it would make any sense. Maybe that statement means that when you buy the boat dealership you get all those parts of the business included with it. I could easily be wrong though.

not sure this is accurate, but getting the malibu dealer franchise is probably a deal that would have to be made between the individual buying it and malibu inc. they would likely have to prove they can represent malibu at least as well as bakes has previously. they may even make an offer pending they actually get the dealer franchise, because the rest of it wouldnt be worth as much if you had no contract with malibu.

Bill has done a lot of great things for the inboard boat market, skiing and wakeboarding in the NW. I use to be roommates with Bret V when he was a salesman there and hung around their place quite a bit. They have a great group of guys including Matt, Paul, Zach, Brandon, Tyler, Dylan and Bill himself. Hopefully whoever purchases Bake's runs it half as good as he did. It sure is a tough time to sell a wakeboarding boat dealership though. <BR> <BR>(Message edited by polarbill on January 07, 2010)
