steelesrt 01-04-2010 6:34 AM

It's time for a new thread for a new year. Too bad its freezing outside, or I would be shreding right now.

jaybee 01-04-2010 7:25 AM

Yeah Man, I really wanna run my boat soon as I have not run it in 3 weeks which I hate doing. Also has anyone taken any "freeze" precautions. There is a thread in the main forum about a florida freeze warning but I looked at weather.com and the lowest it is going to get is 36 which is cold as b*lls but not freezing.

clarkduh 01-04-2010 7:58 AM

Rather be safe than sorry. Just start and fresh water flush your boat each day. That's what I've been doing with my boat. We are going to cable today if anybody wants to go haha.

stephisto47 01-04-2010 8:13 AM

You're going to the cable today Clark? Are you kidding? Is it even 40 degrees? Haha

stillentt 01-04-2010 8:23 AM

Clark you are a crazy fool. <BR> <BR>I'm headed back from Oklahoma right now and it's 19degrees here!

dreevs 01-04-2010 8:32 AM

Your boat sits in direct sun DC, cover it and I would think you should be fine - but, its your boat man- do what makes you comfortable, safer is definatly better than sorry... <BR>It was 20 something on the farm today. Total BS.

clarkduh 01-04-2010 8:42 AM

When u think about it.... I will have cable to myself and am not doing anything but a-frame/ fupa/ roll to reverts round corners, dance floor, and taking a stroll acrosss the magic rainbow where I will probably fall randomly in the middle of the lake due to my board having no nose... Like last time haha WHO'S COMING WITH ME?

stephisto47 01-04-2010 8:53 AM

I'll prolly come hang... but no riding. You're crazy man. I like you! But you're crazy.

clarkduh 01-04-2010 4:35 PM

It was pretty chilly but once the fullsuit started doing work, it was not too bad. We had a big fire setup which was awesome along with the good water :-D

wakeborder5 01-06-2010 10:12 AM

Any of you guys headed out there today or this week? I'm gonna be there in a few and am goin tomorrow and maybe friday or sat

clarkduh 01-06-2010 10:15 AM

I might head out there in a few... It's really effin cold out though and the heater in my house is working flawlessly...

steelesrt 01-07-2010 7:25 PM

lol. even a drysuit doesn't help when the temps are below the 100* rule. water is 55+35= way to effin cold.

clarkduh 01-07-2010 9:45 PM

A drysuit would be perfect. Some scuba booties, gloves,... Perfect!! A fullsuit does the trick for now though

premierwake136 01-08-2010 3:51 PM

im planning in going to the university of tampa next year. how hard is it to find a pull??

jb06gravity 01-08-2010 5:19 PM

A lot of us on here have boats, any of us are always willing to pull any one. Hit me up when you get down here 727-480-7773. I'm always willing to pull. We run about 4.2k ballast on my boat.

stillentt 01-09-2010 2:44 AM

Alright fellas, I was OK with it hitting 30 degrees and leaving my boat OUTSIDE storage, but its supposed to be 25degrees saturday night and it has me worried.. <BR> <BR>What is everyone else doing that has outdoor storage? Am I good? <BR> <BR>Anyone got an extra garage they wanna rent me for a week?

taitrt 01-09-2010 11:16 AM

I put a little shop light in my engine bay, I'm sure it will warm it up at least 5-10 degrees... hopefully the gas fumes won't ignite.

jaybee 01-10-2010 9:29 AM

^^^^^^^ Exactly what I did.

clarkduh 01-10-2010 9:29 PM

I did the lights as well, put boat in water but tied up, just gotta watch tides. Run it every night a couple times for about 20 minutes. Use all accessories, run water etc. Weather is really cold, had ice on the dock, about fell off. Anybody wanna ride?

taitrt 01-11-2010 1:51 PM

Started my boat up today and it was being real weird... not holding idle at all, hopefully it's just water in the gas or something. <BR> <BR>I probably won't start it again until it warms up and I can really figure out what's going on.

jaybee 01-11-2010 2:22 PM

^^^ Yeah I am just waiting for the cold to disappear then gonna take it to the dealership to have it checked and make sure everything is good. I wanna start it but don't wanna run the 4 week old gas through it. Gonna look into syphoning options soon as this weather passes.

bflat53212 01-12-2010 4:18 AM

What's up guys? <BR> <BR>Personally, I wouldn't touch it until it completely warms up naturally with the weather. Parts are cold or near freezing right now. Forcing it's parts to move now by trying to start it is just begging something to happen, in my opinion. Once everything is warm and hopefully drive. Chances are it will start right up. <BR>John, you shouldn't need to put in new gas, unless for some reason you have a mechanic telling you otherwise. If you have a problem with anything, it will most likely be a dead battery or some type of fluid level problem. Just remember to charge and if you want check fluid levels before going out next time. <BR> <BR>All just my opinion, and I'm no mechanic.

jaybee 01-12-2010 7:30 AM

Thing is I didn't put any stabilizer in it and thats what has me worried as I have seen people say that with the way gas is today it is only good for about 3 weeks. At the end of the day Liquid Sports takes ridiculously good care of me so worse case scenario I can just take it to them to fix whatever breaks. <img src="http://www.wakeworld.com/MB/Discus/clipart/lol.gif" border=0>

01-12-2010 8:20 AM

The cold weather shouldn't effict hot your boat runs. I live in the NorthWest and take my supra out will it's between 30-40 degrees out and runs just fine, takes a little longer to warm up but other than that no problem. If you boat turns over slow when it's cold your battery may be getting weak.... Just my 2 cents.... Matt I am hopping to be there on the 30th of Jan you able to ride that saturday ?

premierwake136 01-13-2010 6:51 AM

hey thanks jb <BR>i wont be attending till fall 2010 but ill definately be looking for a pull then

steelesrt 01-16-2010 8:32 PM

somewhat nice today, cloudy, but at least it was warm enough to leave the hoodie at home

jb06gravity 01-17-2010 6:53 AM

Yeah too bad the wind was so bad up this way, I wanted to try and get out. Today doesn't seem too bad though.

clarkduh 01-19-2010 11:56 AM

I had to do all that to my boat because it's a cabin boat, freshwAter pump and generator need to be run along with the Bathroom and kitchen crap. And that stupid thing is hard to keep running good especially when temps at my house were in the low 20's. Anybody up for some riding? Weathers pretty nice

radrachel 01-19-2010 7:56 PM

I miss summer!

dreevs 01-22-2010 5:42 AM

Upper 70s finally. I saw my temp gauge hit 80 yesterday - lets keep it up people!!

jaybee 01-22-2010 7:09 AM

Ted - Come down tomorrow and lets ride. Planning on going out to at least run my boat for a little.

dreevs 01-22-2010 10:35 AM

I just might do that. I really need to get back out there...

jaybee 01-25-2010 8:44 AM

Just so you guys know, I went to take my boat out yesterday but the ramp was so filled with sh*t that I could not even get the boat in so if you are planing on using the boat ramp, make sure you bring a shovel and rake as you will need to make a clearing to get your boat in. I can't tell you how pissed I was to drive over there for nothing.

dreevs 01-25-2010 10:12 AM

Nasty. Glad I didnt drive all the way down for that. really though - Sorry I didnt make it down to help you out - It was the first quiet weekend at home with my kid, we needed it!

clarkduh 02-03-2010 7:59 PM

its been pretty nice out lately... is nobody shreddin or what?

dreevs 02-04-2010 6:25 AM

The norm has been nice week days and shiat weekends - but hopefully thats changing soon...

jaybee 02-04-2010 7:18 AM

I went out last week and perforated my eardrum so im out for the next 2 weeks.

jaybee 02-04-2010 7:19 AM

also just so you guys know. I bought a heavy duty rake for the boat ramp so if you ever need it it is just inside the fence in the front yard of the house to the left.

bflat53212 02-04-2010 7:37 AM

"perforated my eardrum" <BR> <BR>Damn dude! You've got to stop doing that, how many times is that for you? You might have to start rockin' a helmet with ear flaps if you want to be able to hear later in life. <BR> <BR>"its been pretty nice out lately" <BR> <BR>Wow! It's been just crap over here. I think today is the first sunny day in about a week. It's been damp and cold. <BR> <BR>I think I'll just keep hitting the gym for now and be in shape to ride when it gets back to being nice. I'm down about 25 lbs since the last time I rode.

dreevs 02-04-2010 10:18 AM

Im with you Skubz. I've been at the Santos / Vortex Mountain Bike Park during this cold snap. I will probably keep riding there until the water really warms up! Besides - the more I hit these dirt jumps - the better I get!!

jaybee 02-04-2010 10:45 AM

I know. This is my 4th time. last time I did it i swore I would never ride without earplugs again. That lasted about a week <img src="http://www.wakeworld.com/MB/Discus/clipart/lol.gif" border=0>. Def. going to be more serious about it this time.

bflat53212 02-05-2010 4:54 AM

Well Clark was totally right about yesterday. It definitely felt like rideable weather.

jb06gravity 02-05-2010 7:40 AM

Who's down to ride this Saturday? <BR> <BR>Also, not wake related but is any one game to go to Panama City Beach March 13-20 for the MTV Spring Break party??

jaybee 02-05-2010 7:42 AM

hmmmmmmmmmmmm. You towing your boat? I might be up for it.

jb06gravity 02-05-2010 8:16 AM

I'll be drinking wayyy too much to take the boat.

dreevs 02-05-2010 10:38 AM

Im interested.

jaybee 02-05-2010 2:49 PM

^^^^ you being able to get away for spring break = <img src="http://www.wakeworld.com/MB/Discus/clipart/rofl.gif" border=0>

mobydick 02-05-2010 3:48 PM

Deecee, its sean teeples from dallas, we rode a few times when my wife and i lived there this last winter, i have a good friend in tampa and he is looking for a pull, i told him you might be able to help him out, he will throw down on gas and can rip, i'm gonna tell him to get ahold of you on this thread, hope everything is going good and you haven't ran over anymore mail boxes with your boat

jaybee 02-05-2010 3:58 PM

Sean who?????? yeah cause I wouldn't remember ya <img src="http://www.wakeworld.com/MB/Discus/clipart/rofl.gif" border=0> How is it going be a dad now? Hope you and Tammi are good. Thats fine about your friend just have him hit me up.

mobydick 02-06-2010 7:38 AM

Deecee, I wasn't sure if you remembered who you were<img src="http://www.wakeworld.com/MB/Discus/clipart/rofl.gif" border=0>. Any day now and baby girl Kai will be joining us into this world to learn how to rip on every board imaginable. Tami is doing good, just been pretty tough on her. Thanks for offering to get my boy out on the water, he will stoked to ride. You can expect a post from him soon and Tami and I will probably be coming back to visit family in a couple months so I will hit you up then. Take care brotha and I hope your girl and dogs are doing well.

dreevs 02-08-2010 6:07 AM

Whats up Sean and Tami - congrats on Kai!! My son Logan was just born 4 weeks ago today, we got to get these two together to ride early!

clarkduh 02-08-2010 7:14 AM

anybody free anytime friday to ride? its my day off each week. hbro looks glassy every time i go by it!! my river... not so much. Anybody hear about the shark attack with the kiteboarder on the east coast in the past few days?

clarkduh 02-08-2010 7:19 AM

hey deecee, i wonder if they make waterproof headphones styled like the big bulky ones. if they sounded good, i would cruise around in those! no more blown ear drums

tylerc 02-08-2010 8:34 AM

Anyone feel like heading to McCormicks on Sunday, I'm driving down from NJ tomorrow and after playing in a golf tournament I was going to head over to the cable and shred for a few hours. Anyone interested in meeting up/watching me eat crap on their new features.

clarkduh 02-08-2010 2:43 PM

yea, i will be out there Sunday most of the day. i would recommend a wetsuit as the weather may be chilly and wet. Cya out there!

02-09-2010 12:02 PM

If I am not ridding boat I will be there as well. Was a little chilly on Monday, just wind had a chill water isnt bad at all..

tylerc 02-10-2010 11:33 AM

Good deal. I was planning on wearing a top anyways. Look for me, I'll be in blue cire shorts, black vest and white/blue Bern helmet! See you out there

steelesrt 02-14-2010 9:59 AM

you guys are crazy. I'm from the north but it's still way too cold for me to get into the water. I cant wait till we get some 70* days so We can start shreading again.

wakeborder5 02-15-2010 9:44 PM

Hey guys, I'm gonna be in Clearwater Beach for SB and will be going to McCormicks for a day around the 11th of March. What should I expect for air and water temps? I only have a fullsuit, should I bring just in case? <BR> <BR>Also,I will be in the New Port Richey area for a day if any of you guys ride anywhere not too far from there and would be willing to give me and my buddy a pull on the 10th? We would throw down for gas, help with clean up and whatever else, and be very appreciative.

tylerc 02-16-2010 6:31 AM

Ray, hopefully it's gets warmer in a hurry, Sunday was brutal. I was taking the long walk back to the dock just to stand in the sun longer. I'd bring the full suit just in case, better to have it and not need it.

wakeborder5 02-16-2010 9:34 AM

Yeah, how was the water temp? I was out there the second week and even though the temps were bearable at mid-50s, the water temp was a killer

wakeborder5 02-16-2010 9:37 AM

Yeah, how was the water temp? I was out there the second week and even though the temps were bearable at mid-50s, the water temp was a killer

tylerc 02-16-2010 12:31 PM

The water was cold, not brutally cold, but the first crash definitely took my breath away a little bit. Once I was in it really wasn't a huge deal, but I was definitely not stoked to spend any large amount of time swimming around.

bflat53212 02-16-2010 1:53 PM

Ray hit this thread up when you come down. It better be riding conditions by mid-March. This is just ridiculous right now. I keep thinking any down now, but I have been saying that since the 1st of the year. When it does warm up, it usually warms up really quick. You will probably be able to skin it, but like Tyler said, better safe than sorry.

steelesrt 02-16-2010 9:52 PM

ray. myself an jb both are located very clost to port richey, and will be happy to take you out on the boat. will prob go to lake tarpon or the river, depending on how windy it is.

jb06gravity 02-18-2010 5:51 AM

Oh man, I can't wait for mid march, this weather is rediculous. What a welcome to FL hey Matt? I'm going out next weekend, I have some friends coming down here for Spring Break, they have it really early this year. This weekend is supposed to be in the 70's though, any one riding this weekend?

supernatural 02-22-2010 9:07 PM

Hey guys, I'll be in town March 16th through the 21st and would love to catch a boat set while there, if anyone is riding. I have $ for gas and help clean up. Appreciate it. Also hitting some cables, planning on McCormics, OWC, and The Projects on the 2.0, If anyone is interested in meeting up to ride cable that would be cool.

dreevs 03-02-2010 10:23 AM

this thing on?
Trying to figure out the new board...

jaybee 03-02-2010 11:15 AM

I know. Think I will need to read the tutorial. I was without internet for the past week and I get back and its different. Looks awesome though. High 60's for the next few days. Anyone going out? I am thinking I at least wanna run the boat sometime this week.

dreevs 03-04-2010 12:58 PM

Its friking cold still man - I am soooo tired of this weather. SO tired of it.
Good news with the rain - I now have waterfront property and winch potential is huge in my front yard right now. Anyone have a winch...?

wakeborder5 03-04-2010 8:57 PM

Hey guys, just checking in. Me and my buddy are flying in on Wednesday morning and staying with my relatives in New Port Richey until we go to Clearwater Beach on Friday. We are planning on going to cable on Wednesday or Thursday and would love to get a boat session in one of the days too. Are any of you guys possibly gonna go out Wednesday or Thursday and maybe have room for 2 extra peeps?

jaybee 03-05-2010 11:03 AM

I might be up for it. Looks like we will get back to the 70's next Wed/Thurs.

duffy 03-07-2010 4:42 PM

dreevs 03-08-2010 5:49 AM

What up duff? You should have some mad snowboard skills now!

Im going to try and make it down during the week DC if you are serious about going out. I will be going to the St Pete boat show saturday to goof off and check on the new MC X25 and the X35 if I dont make it during the week.

bflat53212 03-08-2010 8:02 AM

Ted, if you end up going to the Boat show and want some company, send me a text. I would met you down there and be up for some drinks after.

dreevs 03-08-2010 10:54 AM

will do man, its the plan right now

jaybee 03-08-2010 2:42 PM

Yeah Man. I am thinking Wednesday. Who's in? Also I might be up for going to the boat show but am just dreading running into Jim :o so if nothing else i miight be up for joining you guys for drinks.

jaybee 03-08-2010 2:43 PM

Oh yeah also, whats up Duff? How is the cold weather treating you?

stillentt 03-08-2010 3:53 PM

Just tuning in to the new board to get updates.

I rode the cable Sunday afternoon and felt amazing to be out on the water in the sun, although it was a bit cool it was a still blast. I'm ready for summer!

dreevs 03-09-2010 5:48 AM

Ahh, Jim's alright - hes just a used car salesman. I cant make Wednesday.. Thursday Im in Orlando... Friday, well now Friday is looking pretty good...

All times are GMT -7. The time now is 5:25 PM.
