I am moving from MI to Arlington on Saturday. I posted on DC wake but I figured I would post here as well. Seems like everyone rides Lake Anna, but let me know if there are other options, I am still getting adjusted to the area! How late in the year do you guys ride there?

My boat's away for the year (last time out was Nov 6), but ping me if you want to go out next year. I ride off the Potomac in Northern VA, based out of Tyme n Tyde boatel:

http://www.tymentyde.com

There are only a couple of small rideable spots, and they are often too choppy on weekends. But it's 90 minutes closer to me than Lake Anna...

I am thinking of Moving to the DC area as well, and had some questions as well.

How late in the season you guys ride?
Where is there to ride besides lake Anna?
How is the Potomac in terms of smooth water? and how far from DC?
How bigs the scene?
etc?

My section of the Potomac sucks on weekends, pretty much other than (sometimes) the tiny Mattawoman Creek (near the boatel in my previous post). On weekday afternoons, which I've rarely gotten to go boating on, it can sometimes be very calm everywhere. It's not a very good area at all, but it's already an hour drive for me and that's as much as I'm gonna do on a regular basis. This year my last ride was early November in a drysuit (air temp was in the 50s I think).
