I have an old Rebel 2000 35mm camera with a 28-80 AF lens will this lens work on the newer digital EOS cameras, and if so is it even worth bothering??? I have ordered a 40D with the 28-135 IS lens, so really the new lens should do everything that the old one should correct?

Yes, it will work, but the new lens will cover that range and have better quality. sell the 28-80 on ebay,

That is what I was thinking... Actually sell the whole camera with the lens... I haven't shot a thing on it in about 6 years. Got a digital point and shoot and never shot another picture with film

You will get a little more on ebay as a set. there are still a lot of classes out there that require film although I doubt that will remain the case much longer.

I donated my film rebel and that same lens to a group in Africa that gives the cameras to people and teaches them how to use them so they can earn extra income. It was through a guy on Fredmiranda.com
