Ok, first off I don't know if this has already been talked about, but I am hoping to get out on the lake next month (Eastern Wash.) and I can stay pretty warm, all but my hands. I was wondering if anyone can recommend me some gloves that you can still get a good hold and the handle and keep your hands somewhat warm.

Oy, this is a point of pain for me. I hate wearing gloves but with low 40 degree water they are necessary. Those Oneills aren't worth the money. They tear after a few rides. I have tried many different kinds to find the balance between warmth &amp; feel. There is no great solution. The best I have found is basic 2mm neoprenes made by Glacier Glove. They are cheap and work pretty good. You want a glove that doesn't bunch in the palm or your arms will pump..........

Word on the street (or Facebook.com) is that CWB is developing some PHAT red ones for 2010.

The O'Neill 1.5mm psycho gloves in the link jr posted are awesome. I've been riding a bunch in mid to high 40 degree water this winter and those gloves are the perfect combination of warmth + easy to hold handle.

HAHAHA the new CWB gloves are SICK! Less area for your fingers to get caught in the handle ! Amazing !

Those O'Neill gloves work great. Real good grip, and you can fill them with hot water so your hands stay warm. A must for this time of year in the North West.

This works if you are wearing a dry suit. <BR> <BR>Here is what I do. Get a pair of thin cotton gloves, the kind runners wear. Then you put on a pair of dishwashing gloves over the top. Then put your arms into the dry suit. Now you have waterproof gloves that still give you good feel of the handle. Mitchell...I'd never carried Oneill's Psycho Gloves till the "shoe king" convinced me to try them. Since stocking them 3mm and 1.5's we have sold ALOT of gloves. They simply make riding in cold weather alot more comfortable. Hey is there any type of size chat for gloves... I can almost palm a basketball...So am I a med. or lrg?

those oneill 1.5mm psycho gloves that JR posted are the best. great handle feel and very warm. any thicker and your hands will get tired FAST. the wrist seal is great on the gloves.

I picked these gloves up and haven't had a chance to use them in cold water. Waterski gloves don't offer any warmth, they get wet and then the wind hits them they are freezing! Good luck Woody, I'd say you are in for a cold handed experience.

Not necessarily. I own a pair of O'Neill gloves that are 1mm on the back of the hand and suede on the palm much like a ski glove. They don't provide ANY warmth, BUT they do cut the wind chill so if that's all you need then they'll fit the bill perfectly. IMO they work great unless the water is below 50 degs, then I use a friend's 1.5mm psycho gloves (linked above as mentioned). But everyone is a bit different so opinions/experiences may vary depending on how your body deals w/ the cold.

There are a lot of different gloves available from online dive shops at pretty good prices. I bought Chris a pair online in 2002 and I think he is still using them.

It sounds like that I need to pick up a pair of the 1.5mm psycho gloves for real cold water and use the waterski gloves for when the water gets over 55. The waterski gloves do have 3mm on the back of the hand.

They mightn't be fashionable but rubber washing up gloves do the trick. Wear a 3 or so pairs per session and you'll be fine. they can rip easily, but that's why you double or triple up with em. They combat the wind and work well. Might be good to wear them under conventional wetsuit gloves as well though.

Agree with Bill (PerfSki)...I borrowed a friend's 1.5mm O'Neill Psycho gloves and they are awesome for warmth! The 3mm are just too thick, in my opinion, to get a good grip on the handle! I let someone borrow mine this weekend, &amp; they will be making a trip to Performance Ski before next weekend!

I've always used slalom gloves with no issues... Cuts the ache from wind chill, and if I wuss out riding, it's cuz I'm old, not because my hands are beat up..... <BR> <BR>Only been in Central Ca cold conditions though..

My Gloves are like this <BR> <BR>I took some normal gloves that are pretty warm and put those purple latex gloves over and tucked them into my dry suit and bam I have some gloves that didnt cost much......I probably look like a dork but thats cool.
