The woman I'm buying the boat from has no idea what series boat it is... (she was awarded it in the divorce) Is there any way I can tell which one it is? Here are some pics that might help you guys (and gals) out. Also, can you guys tell if it has automatic ballast by the switches? I can't read what they say. <BR> <BR><img src="http://www.wakeworld.com/MB/Discus/messages/65921/605570.jpg" alt="Upload"> <BR><img src="http://www.wakeworld.com/MB/Discus/messages/65921/605571.jpg" alt="Upload"> <BR><img src="http://www.wakeworld.com/MB/Discus/messages/65921/605572.jpg" alt="Upload"> <BR><img src="http://www.wakeworld.com/MB/Discus/messages/65921/605573.jpg" alt="Upload">

It's a 2004 model if that helps.

polarbill 07-24-2008 10:21 PM

Looks like the Storm 1 package but they added a couple things like bimini, board racks and dual rear ballast.

xstarrider 07-24-2008 11:00 PM

I would say Storm 1 with upgraded dual rear ballast as it looks like it has 3 switches, and it for sure has 3 intakes right under the platform. So it has the highest 3 tank ballast option. It has standard gel flame pattern and a Pilot 1 gauge with depth, air and water temp and a bunch of other useless info. Those are notorious for going haywire. so don't worry if it doesn't work <BR> <BR>Can't tell if it has a flip up bolster driver seat or not. <BR> <BR>(Message edited by xstarrider on July 24, 2008)

those are ballast intakes!? seems like you would not be able to fill them up if you were under way? <BR> <BR><img src="http://www.wakeworld.com/MB/Discus/messages/65921/605585.jpg" alt="Upload">

What is that silver knob in front of all the switches by the throttle?

xstarrider 07-25-2008 12:03 AM

YUp those should have had mesh screens on them. That Centurion ballast system you can't really fill under way. MY 2000 MC has the same system. And the 4 Centurions I owned before had the same system. 01-02-03-04 all had that same sytem. I only had one pump go bad on me and never had a problem priming them just always put the boat in reverse before hitting the switch to fill. They fill pretty quickl. By the time you get all the gear ready (board down, rope hooked up, feet in bindings) you pretty much ready to go <BR> <BR>That silver knob is to adjust your speedos. Sometimes they read to fast or 2 slow. When you get the GPS out you can adjust that dial to have the speedo match the gps reading.

What is that silver knob in front of all the switches by the throttle? <BR> <BR>It is a mechanical adjustment for the speedometer, once you GPS your perfect pass you can syncronize the speedometer to match the PP speed display. <BR> <BR>Nice feature

wayz 07-25-2008 9:17 AM

Looks like the dual rear ballast to me. The ride plate looks manual which is a pain in the ass, IMO. You better plug that drain hole up in the back.

krbaugh 07-25-2008 12:13 PM

Looks like Storm II because of the sub woofer and the 3 ballast tanks

xstarrider 07-25-2008 2:06 PM

Ithought Storm II as well but it has the regular speakers and I thought that sub looked aftermarket.....Could be the pic though

krbaugh 07-25-2008 5:43 PM

I am thinking those where the speakers in 04 either way it has the storm II stuff

krbaugh 07-25-2008 5:45 PM

Give me the HIN and I will try and find out what it came with from the factory

soak_up_the_sun 07-25-2008 7:46 PM

FWIW, our 04 Enzo has the same sub, and at least the same speaker covers. But, now I can't remember which ours is, storm 2 or 3. Sorry.

krbaugh 07-25-2008 7:51 PM

Storm II <img src="http://www.wakeworld.com/MB/Discus/clipart/wink.gif" border=0>

treycleaton 07-25-2008 8:24 PM

storm II, III would include perfect pass. Oh, and dont expect that Faria Pilot system to work <img src="http://www.wakeworld.com/MB/Discus/clipart/uhoh.gif" border=0>

krbaugh 07-25-2008 8:56 PM

It would be a stroke of luck if the Faria Pilot1 worked. Storm II does not include Perfect pass

crushing76 07-26-2008 8:47 PM

IT DOESNT HAVE PERFECT PASS!?? does it have ANY kind of speed control!? ugh. I hope so. <BR> <BR>isnt it about a grand to have perfect pass installed?

krbaugh 07-26-2008 8:53 PM

Today perfect pass has become almost a standard feature......in 2004 not so much. Looking at the dash there is no speed control installed.. Yes PP is at least 1000 probably 1200 or better

crushing76 07-26-2008 8:56 PM

I cant even imagine life before perfect pass and cel phones!!!

crushing76 07-26-2008 8:58 PM

i was hoping that guage on the left of the dash was some sort of speed control. <BR> <BR> <BR>i'm guessing thats the "not likely to work" faria system? maybe i can get it covered under warranty!!!! <img src="http://www.wakeworld.com/MB/Discus/clipart/crazy.gif" border=0>

krbaugh 07-26-2008 9:35 PM

No that gauge had a 1 year warranty. Plus even if you did get it fixed it would not be long for the world. I loved that gauge I used the Digital speedo and depth finder all the time...They just are not very reliable

soak_up_the_sun 07-27-2008 5:07 AM

Ours works...most of the time. I love that guage too, Kevin. <BR>You're right, now I remember that ours was a storm II, but, someone put PP on, and got us the "bling" package w/stainless cup holders and other stuff. <BR>So, maybe now we have a Storm 2.5?

treycleaton 07-27-2008 10:38 AM

IMO, if you are used to towing people, you don't need pp. On my 2002 Hurricane once you get up to speed, she holds true (until you make a turn). Now, if no experience, you may want pp, but it should not be a deal breaker for you.... <BR> <BR>(Message edited by treycleaton on July 27, 2008)

I like that storm 2.5 <BR> <BR>"someone put PP on, and got us the "bling" package w/stainless cup holders and other stuff." <BR> <BR>I wonder who that could have been <img src="http://www.wakeworld.com/MB/Discus/clipart/wink.gif" border=0> <BR> <BR> treycleaton <BR> <BR>You don't have to tell me I have never had PP <BR>My wife is an excellent driver!

crushing76 07-27-2008 8:04 PM

It's DEFINITELY not a deal breaker, and to be honest, I've never even driven an inboard without PP. I should be able to pull people just fine, but I'm really concerned with the quality of pull #1 gets!!! ME! <BR> <BR>Sometimes I get scared when they come back to pick me up. I just tell them not to go faster than idle unless I'm floating face down.

crushing76 07-31-2008 12:58 AM

So, I found out that the boat DOES have perfect pass... and the triple ballast... all factory. does that make it a series III?

jayson_49 07-31-2008 1:09 AM

C.R., by looking at that dash, i don't see the PP, i could be blind but the far right gauge is where mine is and the one in the pic just has the cent logo? the one on the far left is your faria gauge...hmmm..unless it was installed after the pic was taken??

fish6942 07-31-2008 7:02 AM

My '05 has the same dash. The far right gauge is where PP <u>should</u> be installed (but it is not on this boat).

treycleaton 07-31-2008 9:26 AM

It may have triple ballast, but I am w/ Jayson, I don't see the perfect pass where it would be normally installed (far right w/ the Centurion logo)

crushing76 07-31-2008 2:18 PM

well, crap. she said it has it, but in the same sentence she said she doesnt know anything about boats.

sailing216 07-31-2008 6:21 PM

I looked at an older cyclone and it had 'speed control'. Not PP, but like a cruise control. Wonder if it was just RPM based??? <BR> <BR>Anyways, good luck. Not a deal breaker.
