looking for insight on the best place to mount the PerfectPass paddlewheel and a shoot-thru-hull transducer for a depth sounder on a VLX. this is a 1996 model, so it doesn't have the MLS fittings etc on the hull. TIA~ Trace

Trace, here is a shot of the install on my 2000 VLX.

PP holds speed really well. The install was done by UWS.

Notice how the sensor is quit a bit off center. This has not been an issue. Yet, I do notice that the perfect pass holds speed differently on a turn - an inside turn causes a speed up and an outside turn causes a slow down.

Perhaps a more centered install could have issues with turbulence from the center rail of the hull.

Perfect Pass recomends about 6-8 inches away from intake. You can look it up on their website! You will love it!
