I notice that certain pros do certain tricks with a lot more style than others, or with a different style, or just way more often, for instance, I thought of this when I saw Clear Lake Pt. 2 [http://www.alliancewake.com/video_details_extreme.php?id=3831] a lot of people were doing T/S B/S spins, in my mind, Harf pretty much owns T/S Backside, of course its all up to interpretation/opionion, but whenever I see a T/S backside spin I think harf. Another one is Chad Sharpe and Tail Glides/Indy/any Grab Glides, Shaun Murray and surface tricks and Raleys. I was just wondering if anyone else sees riders that do certain tricks better than others.

Almost forgot Soven and Whirly/Tweetybirds
A.A. and those Ole Back mobes he does.

(Message edited by hawk7 on June 25, 2008)

waketx05 06-25-2008 10:33 PM

aaron rathys super tweaked grabs and KGB
ricky g's pete rose
vandalls half cab frontroll
ruck does that ole 7
rustys nuclear glide
sovens whirly and crow 7s

just a few off the top of the head

srh00z 06-25-2008 10:34 PM

I like Necrason's Elephants, Trevor Hanson's Whirly's, Sanders' 313 and I will agree with you on Harf and Sharpe. Sharpe takes his glides bigger than anybody I have seen. Oh yeah, and Lyman's Toe Front Stale (Harf and Parks do that move well too). That is my standard list and I have posted most of these up before. But in just about any video section, I will stop what I am doing and watch these riders do these moves.

dakid 06-25-2008 10:35 PM

murray = on-spins, whirlys, blind judge, crowmobe5

struharik = moby dick

necrasson = elephant, crow, shifty5, hsbs-spins, grabs&pokes

harf = off-spins

shane = tsbs-spins, sliders

brody 06-25-2008 10:39 PM

Rusty is owning in the spinning department right now.

Shane Bonifay's precision grabbing.

I'd say Soven and all of the mobes he does and his consistency.

Are you saying general tricks or individual tricks also?

(Message edited by brody on June 25, 2008)

jermiside 06-25-2008 10:43 PM

your mom does the best tricks

sorry just could not resist...carry on.

hawk7 06-25-2008 10:58 PM

yea Shanes nose press is pretty cool.

Theres some pretty cool moby's thrown in this video here [http://www.wakeworld.com/galleries/getimage.asp?galleryid=400&imageid=9], I think one of them might have been Nintzel [blue/green O'b board w/ the lime green bindings?], I belive theres a Necrason Elephant in this video aswell, and I remember a discussion a while back about how the Nuke grab is not W.C.-styleish at all, towards the end of this video Lyman throws one.

Murray does surface tricks that are pretty cool, tug the rope, then ollie 360 over it, those tumble turns...

Almost Forgot, Watkins- S-Bend.

(Message edited by hawk7 on June 25, 2008)

hawk7 06-25-2008 11:03 PM

Just double checked and I messed up the names, Ricky G is the one throwing the cool Moby dicks, Gerry Nunn is doing the elephant, and It's not Lyman, it's Sean O'b.

liquidmalibu 06-25-2008 11:19 PM

Harrington - ts bs spins
Sander's - agreed with the 313 and front mobes
Soven - tricks that make you dizzy
Bonifay's - sliding and riding
Sharpe - Double up's
Rathy - all rounder
Murray - fun to watch

06-26-2008 12:33 AM

Murray- pretty much all raley tricks, a lot of big slow spins and mobe 5 tricks. Plus his wrapped KGB 5 is insane.

Shane- Rails, for sure

Rusty- Spins, 900 and over

Harf and Phillip- All super-tech stuff

Vandall- Owns all style. Period.

hawk7 06-26-2008 1:01 AM

Collin Wright- Rewind spins of course!

eyedvride 06-26-2008 6:32 AM

Benny G has a great Pete Rose, long grab and smooth.

focker 06-26-2008 9:18 AM

Harrington - tail grab tanny to blind

Adkison/Rusty - hs back mobe

Shapiro - Front to blind

Sanders - 313 (far and away the best one)

Rhett Whatley - tail grab roll to blind

Mark Kenney - double up hoochie glide

Jeff Weatherall - Tootsie roll to blind landing (this is the only tootsie I've seen that I liked the way it looked)

Errington/Lyman/Harris/Dean Smith - whatever grab to blind.

Me - Fashion Rocket Air to blind

(Message edited by focker on June 26, 2008)

hawkeye7708 06-26-2008 9:31 AM

Whatever that trick Colin Harrington busted out in the Truth in SLOWMOTION in front of that tube...i think it was a HS 540, but when he was facing away from the boat be basically touched the tip of his board to his lower back tweaking it... i think thats one of the coolest things i've ever seen

99xstar 06-26-2008 9:33 AM

Seems like SOB has the best line tension abilities when it comes to throwing 'air' tricks (not using the wake). Maybe there is someone better, but I'm just going off what I've seen.

Some of my favorite stuff to watch...

showmedonttellme 06-26-2008 9:46 AM

Benny G poking every single trick he's ever done.

99xstar 06-26-2008 10:17 AM

Agree with Axell - redic.

andy_nintzel 06-26-2008 10:24 AM

Watkins - Backrolls to Blind
Adkisons - Nose Grab Backrolls
Shapiro - Front to Blind (Like my favorite Trick ever)
Necrasson - Elephant and Methods to indy grab 180s off the dub
Colin Ryan - Hoochie to Blind
Rathy - Stalefish is redic!

proho 06-26-2008 7:13 PM

watson - ole spin master

ralph 06-26-2008 8:00 PM

Struharik is the Hoochie master IMO. That dude old school ripped.

dlwsrider 06-26-2008 9:14 PM

Benny G - Toeside melon 7

da_kamp 06-26-2008 11:48 PM

Lymans f/s 1's
Lyman's shiftys
Vandalls tailbones
Colin Harringtons B/S 180s and 3's are amazing
Vandall's Wrapped 3's
Lymans Ole 3's
seeing a trend yet ?
benny G's pokes

westsidarider 06-27-2008 12:26 AM

byerly's front to fakie is the sickest trick in the world.
darin does the sickest s-bend

focker 06-27-2008 2:21 AM

nice jason! going old school...

To follow up there, I always thought Byerly's toe off 5's with a late indy grab, while a little unorthodox, were super pimp. And you can't forget Gator and his heel 5/hoochie to fakie/ and monster Pete Rose's he used to launch of the double ups.

I also forgot Collin Wright, I believe in 12 Honkey's he does a legit method, to indy, to blind. I definitely rewinded that about 5x when I saw that...

to_blind 06-27-2008 10:22 AM

Collin Wright, for whatever reason, sometimes falls through the cracks...the guy is a legend and if "line control" is a trick, does it best...shifties and rewinds are a lost art!

hawk7 06-27-2008 1:44 PM

I vote Soven- T/S Nuclear Backroll2Blind

Lyman- Wake2Rail Transfers

Harf- 1080's

Henshaw- Rails, in the truth I remember he did this insane backside board thant turned into a blind switch nosepress, then he 270'd off

romes 06-27-2008 2:17 PM

harf's oa toe back 3's are insane.(errington's too)
corey bradley does a sick oa back 7.
shanes nuke/nose toe back.
harf/parks/lyman front to fakie
rusty's nuke glide
benny g's methods, ts spins,ole 7's, pete, & ts indy r2r
d cooks glides and batwing to blind and bs3 are super legit.
watsons ole spins
dean smiths tanny 2blind out in the flats

i could list them all day long. if i had to pick one rider to watch over and over it would be harf. he's got such a distinct style that even if you cant see his face you can tell its him just by the way he spins and grabs his tricks.

hawkeye7708 06-27-2008 2:30 PM

is saying Chad Sharpe's Indy Double Backroll a loaded answer?

dnp33 06-27-2008 2:58 PM

i cant believe no one has mentioned shapiro's speedball.
if anyone has ever owned a trick it is definately shapiro's speedball.
also, no one throw's an s-bend 5 like shapiro, and nobody does rope over spins anymore.
when it comes to owning tricks i think shapiro wins.

the vandall owns the flats.

srh00z 06-27-2008 3:16 PM

I think that Shapiro owns most of the Raley based tricks, he just powers through them, lots of amplitude.

longhornfan 06-27-2008 3:23 PM

I can't believe how many posts it took before someone mentioned Benny G's poked and grabbed tricks. He makes damn near everything look cool.

Murray makes riding look fun no matter what he's doing. Watching Murray ride makes me want to be on the water.

Lyman and Harris for big air/wow factor.

brhanley 06-27-2008 3:46 PM

Not totally on topic with the original post, but some Older School:

Eric Perez's Blender
Jeremy Kovac's Mobe 5 (landing with back hand on rope) and Slowball
Shapiro's Speedball
Weddington's Fronts
Cobe's Crail Tannys
Randy Harris' methods off the dub
Gator's giant front 180s off the dub
Just about anything Byerly did from 95-99

marvin 06-27-2008 4:20 PM

Sean O'Brien grabs everything!!!!! Keep your girl away!!!!!

romes 06-27-2008 4:36 PM

my little homie ryan does the sickest nosegrab tanny to revert. SUPER SICK

hawk7 06-27-2008 9:49 PM

david, you are right, now that I think of it I'm not sure theres anyone else that does speedballs, orbitals, flatlines[?], not sure what other tricks sharpiro invented that only he does but there were a few.

Batwing2Blind- Chad Sharpe, its onwe fluid motion, pretty cool.
