Hey all, after a pretty painful landing yesterday I think I'd like a bit more padding on my back (and chest I guess). Any recommendations? I kind of like the look of the JetPilot Falcon and A-10:
http://www.wakeside.com/product/wakeboard_gear/mens/wakeboard_vests/jetpilot+falcon+comp+wakeboard+vest+2008.do

(edited link to fix it-I hope)

(Message edited by tlatoani on June 02, 2008)

not sure what you were trying link to link, but the A10 is pretty thin. Not much protection and its non-approved - thin and lightweight. not protective.

Some Helium vests have lumbar support strap built it.

Having recently tested both for flotation and padding, I chose the Oneill Vapor over the A10. The Vapor is not approved but floats well, has some serious padding (one forum member spoke of falling on rails on his midsection without injury), was cheaper, and allows great range of motion.

I have the falcon and I love it, but I am not sure it is what you would be looking for. It really only has armor type padding on the upper chest and upper back. The padding below the ribs is pretty thin. It does float reasonably well.

the a-10 didnt do much to "pad" me at all..... it didnt really do much at all for that matter.
i definatly would go for something besides the a-10 if your looking for more stability... puls its way less comfortable than my oniell vest
