We surf on my buddies '05 V215 no problem. Fill the port ballast all the way, the front all the way and add 5 peeps on the port side @ about 2200rpm. Not the biggest wave on the lake but it works. He's adding a sac to the port rear locker and ski storage next year. Here's a couple wave pics from earlier in the year, everyone since has learned to drop the rope but no pics of that yet.

you need weight dude!!! stock center ballest, stock rear ballest (surfing side), 750# bag in the locker on surf side, 750# bag on floor shoved all the way to the back, and finally a 1000# triangle bow bag placed on top of the rear bench sit in the rear corner of the surf side, so it would fit perfect kind of kitty corner on top of the seat and the other 750 bag. thats with the driver and a spotter all on the surf side and any other people is a bonus we shove them in the bow on surf side. good luck!

I run 400# in rear locker, 500# in center, 750# on the floor as brian said, 370# on the seat and 400# stacked on the 750 and 370. The wave is absolutley huge if I could figure out how to post pics I'd show you the set up and result.

this is a great shot hate, really shows the truth about what it takes to get a great surf wake.

Thanks for posting those up for me "rippa" I appreciate it. I think I have it figured out now I got a compressor to shrink the file size up.

The key to a huge wake is having the balls to push your boat to the limit. I have been washed off the boat more than once sitting on the back sun pad. Fun stuff!

madvlin 09-07-2007 5:41 PM

thats a lot for frickin weight. The wake looks great

westsiderippa 09-07-2007 5:44 PM

mike if you want to surf you got to push your boat to the limit like hate said. you have to slam that rear corner to the rub rail to get a meaty pocket then start putting more weight forward to make it steeper and longer. surfing is not for comfort. its al about lead.

hatepain 09-07-2007 7:01 PM

Yeah in addition to that we usually have 2 guys sitting on that back left corner of the sun pad. One side of the swim platform is ankle deep and the other is out of the water by about 4-5 inches.

wakemetoday 09-07-2007 9:19 PM

Cool pic!!! I never thought about piling the bag on top of a bag. That's genius. Sometimes I wish I still had my old 1978 Natique. That boat could handle a load and had a good wake. The problem was wake surfing hadn't made it this far inland yet and we were all still "wet behind the ears." kids. Maybe I can ask Santa for another sac this year.

madvlin 09-09-2007 1:11 AM

I agree w/ you hate ive got my lady hangin off the side of the tower two buddies lookin a little gay sharin the back sun pad and stock ballast sys. guess im gonna have to trade her in for some fat girls. who knew there was a plus side to dating fat chicks

Stock Ballast on the surf side front ballast filled and 500# lead in the locker and about 400 # sac on top of that.
I couldn't take all those sacs around
