I can powerslide on the wake on my toeside edge with a wakeboard as long as I want, but find it impossible on a wakeskate. I've got the frontside lipslide (facing the wake and push the tail over the wake so I'm riding back on my heels) down, but when I try the move backside on my toes I always loose the board.

What is the trick to riding the toeside edge of the board on top of the wake? The board always gets pushed towards the boat and I can't hold it under me.

Thanks!

I think you are actually talking about a fronside boardslide. this is from wakeskating.com

[qoute]
a lipslide is when the tail of the board goes over the object you are sliding. a boardslide is when the nose of the board goes of the object you are sliding first.

fronside and backside has nothing to do with which way you are facing durring the slide. you are doing a fronside trick if the object you are sliding is towards your toes before you start the manuever. backside is when the object you are sliding is towards your heels before you start the manuever.
[/qoute]

but to answer your question about doing the trick. dont lean on your toes because you will fall off your skate. instead keep your weight centered straight over the board. i wide stance really helps and keep your knees bent. i try to keep my handle right above my butt with handle twisted. looking underneath your arm will help you get in the position.

Yeah, I meant frontside boardslide. I've got the frontside lipslide down, but not the boardslide. Anywhoo, I'll try staying centered on the board, though it seems like I'd catch my front edge which is why I probably naturally push down with my toes.

Like Mitch said, handle position and location is KEY for that maneuver.

Can you explain the handle position thing? I tried and the only way I could get riding with my back to the boat was to frontside lipslide onto the wake and then swing a 180 on top of the wake so my back faced the boat. I couldn't hold it very long and would have to either ride out switch or swing the board back around into the lipslide.

I don't feel like I've got the right leverage or something to hold the board in place with my back to the boat.

when you are trying a fs boardslide try and turn it past 90. by exagerating it you will get a more solid slide. and to keep it going, flip your wrist and look at the end of the wake underyour arm. dont look down, look towards the end of the wake/rail to keep your momentum/position

Ahh, I think I get it. I've been looking down at the board and trying to keep it under me. I'll give that a try this week. Thanks!
