You always pay...either in the beginning, during or in the end. IMO, it's worth every dollar...

the boat is the easy part.

It's everything that comes after it that will kill the pocket book. Gas being one of the worst.

I'm with Byrd.....It's worth it.

The 2 greatest days of a boat owners life, when he buys it and the day he sells it... lol

gmarkham1 12-02-2006 11:25 AM

a boat is a whole in the middle of the lake you throw your money into!

Ironicaly, I've made money on every boat I've owned and sold. I've been able to recover more cash than I've invested including initial cost. Now labor is a different story, but I consider that an even trade for the use of said boat....Even my 06 books for more now than I paid for it in April. Being able to do all the upgrades myself is certainly a big part of the equasion though.

My new boat cost me almost double what I hoped it would. The wife has new blinds ordered and is looking at furniture for the dining room. There was a carpet guy here yesterday.
Apparently the boat is mine and she's got the same budget.

true story, my first boat: 1994 ski nautique closed bow with just the basics and the old pro boss motor with 200 + hrs, paid 14,000 in 2003. just sold it to by my new v215, with double the hrs and not 1 cent into it for 14,500. "quality far surpasses quantity." boats hold their value.
hey art, i here you bro, kitchen cabnets 12000, bathroom 8000, hardwood floors 10000, my brand new system from trends in my beautiful new v215 priceless
