I bought a vinyl repair kit and was going to see if I could do it myself. I have never done this before so wanted your opinion to see if this is something that I could do or is it worth spending the $100 to have a pro do it. I have a new 05 centurion so I do want to keep it nice but I dont want to mess it up.

Your thoughts.....}

DO NOT do it yourself, I had a rip on my backseat, used the vinyl repair kit from west marine and made it look 1000% worse, its basically super glue. Called the vinyl guy out next day, you cant even tell there was a tear there, the pro is worth every penny.

Thanks, I imagined the pro would be the best way. Just looking at the kit, made me question how i would manage to make it blend. I'm going to call the guy right now.

My boat is in the shop right now so the vinyl guy is going to repair 2 small cuts there for about $90-$120.

Paola, How small are the cuts you can repair for that price and what caused them. I've repaired a few dog-toenail punctures using the cheepo kit and am ok with the one that you cant really see anyway, but now have one on the rear deck that is very visible and it has that "super-glue look". Just trying to get an idea of how much to expect on a quote

he's repairing 2 half inch cuts. one is from a wakeboard fin so it a direct slice. and the other is small but not such a clear slice. i wish i took a photo before he repaired it.

I paid 120 and the guy repaired 4 cracks in the vinyl.

You seem to have gotten a better deal but in San Diego things always seem to be a bit more expensive than other areas.
