That guy is sick!!!!!!
I would like to see the video at full speed though. Too much editing!!!!

Good footage though

byerly137pro 09-11-2004 7:18 PM

I like the whole thing I thought the editing was cool, the slow mo allowed to really see every part of the trick he was doing. It was just all around crazy.

magellan 09-11-2004 11:53 PM

Awesome.
I still think I big grab with a late BS 180 looks the best. All that hucking and spinning..although impressive, doesn't have much style at all.

Nice shot at a ten..

blabel 09-12-2004 8:38 AM

Actually I thought his hucked spins looked about as smooth as they could. That guy makes a 9 look like a 5.

Is this guy on the PWT or anything like that?

kevin_bird 09-12-2004 10:12 AM

has he ever hit a 1080 he was pretty close at the end also it looks like almost an grab ole 900 he does.

tommyc 09-12-2004 10:56 AM

Steve Edwards does not go on the PWT very often. He does pretty well when he shows up. He was at the Nationals. He is a great spinner. He is not the best at Mobes. That is why he has limited success.

blabel 09-12-2004 1:33 PM

Man I just watched it again. That Ole 9 was amazing and I just can't believe how easy he made the regular 9 look. He has a lot of control that's for sure.

isler 09-12-2004 1:36 PM

He was also the first rider to ever do a w2w 900 in competition. He did it before Watson did, at the start of the season in 2002 I believe.

deepstructure 09-12-2004 8:49 PM

that ole 9 is insane. coulda fooled me that he wasn't good at mobes.

malibuboarder75 09-12-2004 10:09 PM

well he is going for w2w 1080s, that is unbelievable. I would think it would be easier off the double up?!?

tommyj16 09-13-2004 8:55 AM

I can't open the link????

malibuboarder75 09-13-2004 10:19 AM

watching a guy like that inspires me more then watching someone like danny harf or parks bonifay because the guy is an underground wakeboarder and is doing tricks the big name pros arnt doing. Shawn Watson has been doing ole spins forever now and I havn't seen him pull a ole 9.

magellan 09-13-2004 10:45 AM

I'm with you leo.
There are guys out there that can ride as good or better then the "rock stars", but just aren't exploited like they are.
Brian Grubb is a perfect example.

cgutzmer 09-13-2004 11:26 AM

That guy Rips, He looks like he could land a 1080. He is pretty close!!! Is that last spin a 900 or a 1080? It looks like he is getting around 3 times. Nice video.

malibuboarder75 09-13-2004 1:08 PM

yea, last spin is a 1080, he is landing blind after 3 rotations toeside.

Wikedeewak, why is brian grubb a perfect example??? Are you saying he is overated or underated?

brinks 09-21-2004 8:23 PM

Steve has a lot more than just spins. Watch for him in the upcoming DVD entitled Pendulum due out in March.

kristian 09-22-2004 1:27 AM

Steve Edwards does not get the credit he deserves. When he landed that first 9 they hardly made a fuss over it but when Watson landed it later there was all this hype. Not to take away from what Watson did, but Steve is a great rider (from what I've seen) he should get a bit more coverage.

wakeworld 09-22-2004 4:42 AM

Joshy, how come you haven't sent in that 1080 attempt so that Steve can win some shwag?? Great video!

http://www.wakeworld.com/contests/2004/1080.asp#Crash
