Needing amp advice

Just ordered a tower for my boat and got 4 of the Polk 61/2's with it. And I also have 4 Polk 61/2 's mounted in the boat any advice on what amp would be a good to run all 8 speakers. I currently have a 1000 watt auto tech amp powering a 12" kicker crv sub which sound great. Any help would be greatly appreciated. .

I don't think running 8 speakers with one amp would work. And since you already have an amp, you'd need to start thinking about adding a battery if you add more amps. Ideally, you'd add a second battery to run your stereo components, and grab two Precision Power 900.4 amps to run the 8 speakers.

If you don't want to add a second battery, then forget about amplifying the cabin speakers and focus on the tower speakers and the sub. In which case, you could get away with a Precision Power 900.5 (5 channel), run the 4 tower speakers and the sub from the 5th channel, and get rid of your existing amp. That would probably be the only scenario where you wouldn't need to add another battery.

Long story short. You need more amp.

Ideally, run 1 monoblock for your sub and 2 4 channel amps for your speakers.
As mentioned you are going to want/need to add another battery for the audio system, especially if you are using it floating and not just while on the go.

I'm not going to start going off into certain brands or specific amps or anything, but make sure your RMS rating on the amps as hooked up to the specific ohms you have the speakers hooked up at exceeds the RMS rating on the speakers.

Also if you are looking to have some tunes out while surfing or wakeboarding and not just in the boat, you are going to want to ditch the 6 1/2"s on the tower and swap in some HCLDs up there.

Doing all this, you may want to consider an EQ as well, such as the Wetsounds 420SQ to be able to tune and control the music from tower to in boat.
