I am going to add a JL marine amp with some audioformz tower speakers. Is there anythign specific wire wise I need to buy? Can I use regular speaker wires?

Depends on what your definition of regular speaker wire is. <BR> <BR>The primary concern is that you don't overheat the wires. This usually is not much of a concern though, unless you are running some serious speakers at very high power. 200 watts into a 4 ohm speaker would only draw 7 amps through the wires so even 18 awg would survice. <BR> <BR>The next issue is power loss due to the resistance of the wire and the increase in overall impedance that it will introduce. Any added resistance due to the wire means that the amp will need to provide a higher output voltage to deliver the same power, and it is often the voltage limits that restrict how much power the amp can put out. It also means that the total power of the amp needs to be more because some will be lost in the wires. <BR> <BR>If you have ample head room in the amp ( the amp can drive significantly more power than the speakers will tolerate) then I wouldn't worry about the power lost in the wires and I would recommend 16 awg wire so that running the wires was easier. <BR> <BR>I would also recommend using a "tinned" wire so that the copper doesn't corrode as bad.

What is the deal with that speaker cable..why do u recommened that cable?

eb, it's a very good speaker cable, but probably not necc. for your application. It provides great insulation, keeps resistance low (13 ga) , heat low. but like rod said 16-18 ga will work.

can someone receommend some good wiring? Can I use normal speaker wiring or is their a better kind to prevent corrosion?

I've used regular 14 ga car audio speaker wire from wal-mart on 3 towers I've helped put speaekrs on. None have had any issues. The stuff Mike reccomends is better.

You can get marine speaker wire (tinned) from West Marine, for a semi-exorbitant price.

eb, <BR> <BR>I get the 13ga stuff direcely from audiopile without the ends for something like a buck per foot. You need less than 25 feet, spend a few bucks and do it right once with the right stuff... <BR> <BR>I wouldn't consider wiring a tower with smaller gauge wire (unless I needed a smaller outside diameter cable for cosmetic reasons). <BR> <BR>Mike
